Rooting may not be my thing for now, but as soon as someone offers a way to select a book title by browsing through folders like in a directory tree, if needed I will gladly learn how to do it.

Please, can you add support for non-epub book types like fb2 and mobi into the home screen?
Thanks for a really good work. |

I'm sorry, but adding in the google market is not part of writing this app.
To add in the google apps we would need to grab something like the cyanogenmod gapps pack and install that. for google apps there are a number of apk files that will need to be added onto the system partition. |

I installed the apk successfully, but every time I try to get to the new homescreen, the program is force-closing without the homescreen ever showing. Anything I'm forgetting here?
Same with each version. Even tried a clean root and still the same problem. Restarting isn't helping either. Help is very much appreciated. However, thanks for the work |

Could you post some screenshot? I'd love to see how it looks like!
Sorry, No need to post screenshot again. I've seen one in a previous post. Thanks. I'm trying your home screen! Last edited by vietchovui; 11-13-2011 at 08:26 AM. |

cme: Thanks for the logcat. unfortunatly it didn't really help.
I have now added a bit more logging and error checking. if you could try 0.0.0.6 to see if it works for you and let me know. thanks |

I have a request to make of people reading this.
At the moment I have used icons from Sony's original homescreen. at some point I expect Sony to send me an email and tell me to stop using there icons. can anyone on this list provide me with some free icons to use? thanks. |

PRS+ uses Sony's icons - they were never asked to cease . I think, as long as you don't try to distribute the product on the open market, outside "the Sony world", you are fine. Having said that, if people do go ahead and produce a new set of icons (as long as they are obtained legally, and meet your requirements), it would be great if you can manage to utilize those. Would be even cooler, if one could select which set of icons (skin, GUI style) to use. As long as the APK still fits in the puny /data partition on the reader... |

Skinning would be a great idea. I'll start looking into that.
Hope your right about Sony, and really this isn't any use to anyone without a Sony PRS-T1 ereader as the database location and structure would be different. |

Hello there,
First of all, thanks to you guys for all your effort. I have been enjoying Porkupans work for years in my 505, so can't be more grateful. Here's the thing. I am perfectly happy with the way the T1 displays my PDF-6", so I have no interest in adding any other reading appk at all. Still I would like to use this alternative homescreen, so I would need some way to just root the T1, without adding anything else and add this single app. Is there a way to do that? I already have the minimal root set but it already has more than I need. Maybe I have to use that and then uninstall everything? Thank you for your patience. |
