You miss a size reference in that second one... it might be a tiny one highly zoomed in!

Grace! I used to like you! That last video is going to be a part of my nightmares for the next ten years! I am definitely considering to take the trip to Hawai'i out of my wish list, I don't think I could make it back alive...how can you live with such things around you, and around your kids? :shiveringoutoffrightanddisbelief:

I think Hawaii's "Cane Spider" is our "Huntsman". According to wikipedia, it's a species introduced to Hawaii. We used to keep them in our lunchboxes when we were kids, and take them out to play with at lunchtime.

Ah! I had no idea! Why the HECK did you bring them over here??? when I taught in New Mexico, the playground was right over a regular tarantula migration trail. so every year, it would be overrun with tarantulas. The kids would play with them. They were awfully big and hairy too...
