NOTES:

It now includes two buttons:

• Hide Fonts - Creates a configuration file to hide the fonts found in the user-edited text file "fonts.txt"
• Restore Fonts - Removes the configuration file with an addition- see here.

OTHER DEVICES SUPPORT: 2, DX, 3 and 4. They just don't use the same font selection dialogue, thus the previously posted "ancient" solutions would apply.

hmm.. I suppose I COULD say that if the AVAILABLE CAPACITY is REALLY LOW AFTER CHARGING then you might want to think about planning for a new battery/device.

NOTES: On K5 and PW Duokan starts in 8 seconds while on other devices it starts immediately. Extension uses the original script to launch the Duokan. Hence you should not have the DUOKAN_NO file on the USB root.

This version Autodetects the FB type.

It's job is for BROKEN screen kindles... It will auto-scroll the content Left or Right / Up or Down. when you turn a page in a book. Well actually any time you press the RIGHT HAND SIDE PAGE FORWARD OR PAGE BACK BUTTONS (I did not affect the LEFT HAND SIDE one to give you options)

BY DEFAULT - It will move the Framebuffer 5% to the left (as this was the requirement of the OP who I modded it for) but...

SETTING ARG1: scroll percent (-100->100) (will go in reverse) 5% default

SETTING ARG2: update type (0-2)

0 = no flash (fast, but slight ghosting)
1 = quality (full flash update, cleanest display) <- Default
2 = speed (very fast, black and white only)
21 = Inverted !

SETTING ARG4: support debug output (into stdout via ssh only)
SETTING ARG3: 1= X 0=Y (move in that axis) X is Default

You can add those into the right place in /extensions/scroller/bin/autoscroller and make it do anything you want. (just look in the file - I indicated where)

To Run: Just press the KUAL button. it will stay on until you go to screensaver

To Turn Off: simply POWER CYCLE - that means click the screensaver on manually. If you accidentally let it go to screensaver while reading (HOW SLOW DO YOU READ???) you will have to click it on again. no big hardship.

Extra note. It IS possible to have the scrolling work faster. But chapter starts take longer to load and are "missed"

The first page loaded wont actually "move". page back / forward to move it.

YOU WILL NEED TO PUT STUFF IN YOUR EXTENSIONS FOLDER FOR THIS TO BE USEFUL.

This is simply a folder called extensions located in the ROOT of the drive WHEN YOU ATTACH VIA USB TO FAT. If you forget to make one in advance of running the program for the first time... This folder will be automatically created for you, containing a single test script. Therefore four KUAL buttons.

• Test Kual <-- The test script
• Sort ABC
• Sort 123
• and Quit

"What? that really obvious place right where all the other default folders are?"
"Yep, put stuff there.. in the folder called extensions"

This is a great solution for my damaged screen (I was asking you about an easier screen rotation option in another thread).

I am now using "scroller", but I need the margin on the right side to be 100% larger, since my screen damage is almost 1 inch in from the right side. I have no idea how to code to adjust the settings on scroller. Any advice?

Edit the runner.sh arguments in autoscroller file in /bin to read

/mnt/us/extensions/scroller/bin/runner.sh 8 &

where 5 moves 5% left and 95 moves right rather than left.
8 would be more "Left"

So more than 50 moves right -- >

Less than 50 moves < -- Left

Or in the other (Y) Axis Anything between 0 to 100 is cool. moving from Top 0 to bottom 99

play with larger or smaller value to get it spot on for each page turn.

Set your default margin size to be a little bit wider if 5 isnt okay.
That done by MENU BUTTON > CHANGE FONT SIZE > WORDS PER LINE "FEWER" on the 4

BTW... it does 5% move to the left by default so 8% might be about right... You'll have to play
