That depends on the firmware version. If it is equal or greater than 5.16.3 there is no jailbreak at this time. There is no way to know the version without turning it on.

You can guess it by looking at the serial number.
There are four groups of four characters in the serial number. You need the third group. It represents year, week, and day of manufacturing. Like 322X is year 2023, week 21, any day. If it’s that or lower, then you’re good, JB possible. If it is higher than that, then 90% that FW will be 5.16.3 or higher. Although some users reported that even late production Kindle had low firmwares too |

But if you already turned on Kindle and connected to Wi-Fi, 99% it got updated to latest firmware. So this information is no longer useful |

if you say "Go captive firmware" do you mean connect to WIFI like "xfinity" where internet is behind a login thus failing to login in would result in no internet and Kindly would just give up and let me to the main manu?

No it would show the login page, and instead of logging in, you tap ";demo" in the address bar (Deleting the current URL) and when yo have access to the main menu you put your kindle in airplane mode (Which actually let's you bypass it after, if you restart or such)

I got my kindle scribe from Amazon 7/12/2024 with fw 5.16.2
OK so I was able to JB, nstall KUAL and KOreader here are few notes 1. disable your antivirus app, I was missing few files from the LanguageBreak package. 2. I have bypassed the login screen by connecting to "xfinitywifi" wifi. This opened the browser and I typed ";demo" into the address bar and followed LanguageBreak JB. 3. Then I installed MR Packages : https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=251143 4. KUAL coplate: https://storage.gra.cloud.ovh.net/v1...0240104.tar.xz 5. and KOreader: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/releases |
