Hi again, apart from the current situation (COPS via webserver) I am still thinking about calibre web running from a raspberry. I just found my "old" Raspberry PI 3B and ordered a power adapter (lost mine?!) to start with. I would like to run it via my fritzbox router I guess, first of all I have to install the operating system "raspios-bullseye-arm64" but don't know really how to go on May I get some help from your side? |

1 - maybe start a new topic for this question? 2 - for a raspberry Pi 3b I would use the 32 bits OS (Bullseye) Does the 64 bits OS even work on a 3b? 3 - install Docker for Raspberry Pi 4 - download Docker Image of calibre-web 5 - Run calibre-web 6 - open IPv4/IPv6 port on your router (portforwarding) to your Pi 7 - test. |

Bullseye is said to be compatible with PI 3B - have to wait for the power supply, will report after installation Thank You! |

Yes, but the Pi 3b is as far as I can remember not 64 bits. |

Guess, you'll right - it needs some tricks to bring a 64bit version to the 3M model - so let's take the bullseye 32bit |

Followed your instructions on a brand new rasp4b, got stuck at many points - linux is not my cup of tea.. honest: all commands I did have been made by paste©, not really knowing, what I'm doing At least I installed docker and calibre-web and: Yes: I see the web surface with admin/admin123 and should give the path to the libraray - and that's the end. It is said that its the folder "books" which I dont find, all other places where I placed the library with the db result always in the message "DB location is not valid - please enter correct path" The library is located on a stick (not place enough on the micro sdcard), but I have no choice to enter the path to the stick Thats the situation so far |

I hope you got a good deal on the new raspberry pi 4b. It's a reasonably able device, much better than the 3b. If you can login to calibre-web you are almost there (or not...). Maybe it's a three steps forward two steps back process. Q: Can you post here the command(s) you copy/pasted to get calibre-web working on docker? Q: Have you mounted the USB stick in /etc/fstab (or manually)? Or don't know what I'm talking about? I'm confident we can get I working!!! |

thanks a lot for your help - before we continue: which way to mount the stick? It's still NTFS (no library on it, yet) Tried it with SSD/Adapter but mouse/keyboard stopped/blocked (too much for that small thing?) |

Did you buy this power supply? https://www.raspberrypi.com/products...-power-supply/ Then it should be possible to use a 2.5" SSD. I made my own with a u-green USB 3 case and Kingston 128GB SSD. Installed Raspberry OS on it, and I am able to boot from it and still have enough space for e-book data (I use it only for testing, not for "production"). If it's still an empty USB stick it should be formatted as exFAT, not as NTFS. For Raspberry Pi use exFAT (NTFS is possible but then you need more copy/paste. 1 - check the format on your PC. If needed format as exFAT and put a calibre library on it. 2 - connect the USB stick to the blue port on your Raspberry Pi. 3 - In a terminal on your Pi: (to manually mount to see if it works) Code:
sudo mkdir /mnt/USB sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/USB cd /mnt/USB ls |

Bought this one - identical to yours and official power supply for $B https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0B4NPDDTF?...roduct_details I'm just formatting a 128gb stick and a 500gb Dogfish SSD mSATA Shark I If it would be better to put -eg - the system on the mSATA, I'll do that and start installing everything again from the beginning |

Install the OS on the SSD or the USB stick (not both ;-) ). Remove the SD card. And I would use either the SSD or the USB-stick, not both. I have never heard of Dogfish SSD's. It has a strange form factor, but it should work! |

No, just prepare the SSD like you would the SD card. So write the image to the SSD. It will be formatted ext4 (and then you have a problem......... but we can deal with it). |
