Only the Northern Ireland part of the UK. A lot of Queen Elizabeth stuff (1st one, not 2nd one) survives in grammar and some volcabulary.
Even the AV/KJV is not 17th English as it was silently revised and the original was specially invented English for the translation. People then neither wrote nor talked like that. Shakespeare's text is also specific to the theatre.

It's Noah.

Edit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noah_Webster
Written by Americans, for Americans in American.
Also he ignored much current usage then and used his own ideas.
Plenty of USA English speakers have never spoken as he dictated. He changed USA spelling. However though the spelling has largely stuck due to the prescriptive approach of US education and the dictionary and 'Spelling Bees' (does anywhere else obsess over those, or even have them?) likely US English has changed and plenty of USA people don't speak his English.

Language is not fixed unless the entire civilisation that used it is dead. Hence pronunciation of Church Latin is nothing like how actual Romans pronounced it.

Chaucer used old fashioned English (c. 1340s – 25 October 1400)
Jane Austin is quite modern in usage and her satire. (16th December 1775 – 18th July 1817)
The famous Victorian British & Irish authors are no less modern (when they wanted to be) than USA ones of the same era.

Bundle Book Covers

If anyone else is bothered by the disparate/missing covers in the Bundle, I came across this Reddit thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/discworld/c...ykidby_covers/

That leads to this imgur album:

https://imgur.com/a/8oE40Ku

Which can be easily downloaded by clicking on the three dot menu (...)

And applied to your new books.

Obok plugin is part of the dedrm package and it’s faster to use my kobo reader for batch removal than downloading acsm files individually. But you do whatever is best for you.

Also kobodl is even faster because you can just download your whole kobo library at one.

These are certainly more interesting than the often generic covers they came with. Thanks!

The part that confounds me is why some of the Kobo covers use the generic Discworld series pattern (e.g. https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/wyrd-sisters) with solid background and patterned column/spine, while others use a different, more serious cover with swirling colors (https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the-color-of-magic-1). It's all HarperCollins, so I can't imagine different publisher being the culprit.

Cactus Chef-

Those are new redesigned covers:

https://www.terrypratchettbooks.com/...cworld-novels/

However, they are not yet available for all of the books.

Is there a way I can purchase the Bundle for those who are blocked and give them my Kobo acct and password to retrieve the books and it not violate copyright?

I think they only need your Kobo email address, not your Kobo account password. They'll send you a link and a redemption code to type in.

The thing with DeDRM is that you end up with ePub and not KePub. So you have to choice of where you read your eBooks. ePub is a much better format for archiving then KePub.

The cover for The Coulor of Magic is the beginning of new covers (yet again). I have no idea why when the Kirby covers are just so much better then any of the other Discworld covers.

You would have to pay $18 per person. Otherwise, it's morally wrong to do this.
