I'm in the process of getting a 505 after my 500 recently died. I'm more than likely to buy it through B&H Photos since they ship internationally.

I figured I'd cover for accidental damage but B&H won't sell a policy to international customers.

(well, they do, if you believe the bit on the product page where it says 'Available for US and International customers (not valid in Florida and Oklahoma)': But actually they don't, since when you get to the ordering page it says 'Due to certain restrictions this warranty can not be sold to customers in the states of Florida and Oklahoma, or to international customers.' What the f's up with that???)

Anybody know of any decent international protection plans for electronic equipment?

Sony Accidental Protection

Got my reader, PRS-505 about 2 months ago, but just found these forums, will be frequently visiting now.

I strongly suggest the protection on the Sony Reader, but ONLY if it covers Accidental Handling. The thing is built pretty well, and shouldn't have any problems within the manufacturer warranty, but the screen is some what delicate and I can just imagine sitting on it or something.

The extended service from the Sony Style store in my area is wonderful.

I will get a 505 for christmas and i will buy the 2 / 3 years protection plan for sure.
you find it here:
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...151&langId=-1#

I made an insurance for my sons blackberry and my daughters motorola slider. my sons blackberry was returned without charges after in internal malfunction after 13 month - and my daughter gets a new phone today - was fallen down and the screen broke - for $40 deductible.
Just imagine, how much is a new screen, if you dump your reader.
I guess, that are 40 bucks well spent.
just my 2 cents
take care
