Mal ein kleines Lebenszeichen von mir. Ich komme momentan aus privaten Gründen kaum zum Lesen, habe aber heute endlich mal etwas weitergelesen, hänge allerdings immer noch weit zurück (Kapitel 5).

Ich lese ebenfalls noch, aber das unhandliche Taschenbuch hält mich öfters mal davon ab. Ich bin mittlerweile im 8. Kapitel angekommen - also immer noch bei den Affen.

Ich muss leider zugeben, dass das auch weiter mein Eindruck von dem Buch ist. Ein Mix aus Sachbuch und Baxters "Geschichten" hätte mir wohl irgendwie besser gefallen. Ich lese es aber trotzdem gerne weiter, aber eben immer nur in Häppchen.

Nachdem ich nun endlich den Teil "Ancestors" abgeschlossen habe, will ich mich auch noch dazu äußern.

Der letzte Teil von Evolution, der sich mit den Nachfahren der Menschheit befasst, hat mir insgesamt recht gut gefallen. Vor allem das erste Kapitel mit dem Team, das aus dem Kälteschlaf erwacht, nachdem um sie herum alles zum Teufel gegangen ist. Da kam sogar so was wie Spannung auf.
Irgendwie hatte ich gehofft, dass letztendlich die Natur dafür gesorgt hat, dass die Menschen verschwinden, aber ganz so war es anscheinend doch nicht. Das erfährt man allerdings erst im Epilog. Mein Fazit zu diesem Buch ist, dass es meiner Ansicht nach sehr schwankend in der Qualität ist. Manchmal - aber das haben wir ja weiter oben schon erwähnt - "ergeht" Baxter sich zu sehr in Lehrbuchbeschreibungen, sodass man es erst einmal beiseite legt, bis die "Leseerschöpfung" sich wieder gelegt hat. Jedenfalls erging es mir so. Dennoch bin ich froh, bis zum Ende durchgehalten zu haben. |
