Case

If anyone's looking for a case, I just bought this one (genuine leather):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CVKF6NJ

It's intended for the iPhone 6+ so it's a little too deep but the width and thickness are perfect. A small piece of polystyrene at the bottom makes it perfect.

It isn't expensive: around £11, €11 and $14.

Just a few thoughts after a couple of months using this.

GOOD:
  • It's small, so it's easy to carry around
  • Powers up very quickly (about 3 seconds)
  • It handles large files well (I have several "complete works of..." from Delphi Classics, and no problems with them)
  • Plenty of memory for books
  • Recognises books in subdirectories

NOT SO GOOD:
  • Battery life: the battery drains very quickly even in sleep mode
  • Doesn't handle grouping books into sets or categories

SUGGESTIONS:
  • Battery life: as it powers on quickly, I tend to switch it off completely instead of putting it in sleep mode
  • Book collections: create a subdirectory and place the books in it. To sort the books into order, add a number at the start of the name. Then use the file browser to open the book.

On the whole, I am very happy with the reader. Although it could be improved, I certainly don't regret buying it.

Still available under a different name

For anyone who's found this page and wants to buy one, I've just seen the same eReader on Amazon (in France) for 69 euros. The brand name is Woxter E-Book Scriba 195 S.

https://www.amazon.fr/Woxter-Book-Sc.../dp/B0BY93NLDR

With all its limitations, I am still very happy with my purchase. The reader is small enough to fit into a pocket, and replaces my much lamented Kobo Mini.

Also on Amazon Germany, which has English.

€7.87 delivery to Ireland.

Black is better too. The white is staining yellow from my fake sheepskin coat.

The power-off battery life is fantastic and it boots really fast.

Not available on Amazon UK, though listed.
