I have read in the main post how to remove the plugin.
But how does one remove the edits made by it and restore the kindle to the previous condition? |

If I get rid of the old collections, and the book therein, will that delete the books from the new collections? Not sure whether this or the CM thread is the right forum, as am using PW.

@Waylander: Think of the collections as simple 'tags' attached to a book. A single book can have multiple tags.
Removing those tags will in now way affect the book themselves . So, no, removing stuff from a collection will not actually delete said stuff, it'll just rip that tag off the file . |

OK, but what I mean is that I have a collection called Sc-Fi/Fantasy, and if I delete that collection, and the books in that collection, will those books still be in the collections created by the collections manager?

@Waylander: If said collection is not managed by the plugin, then it will be gone.
If it is managed by the plugin, it'll be recreated on the next import. That's the whole Plugin managed vs. Kindle managed thing as explained in the first post . |

Kindle Collection is deleted despite being larger than threshold
I have a Kindle Collection being created from a tag called 'science fiction' with several hundred books that should remain after the collections are generated.
I also have a rule that says not to create a collection from a *series* if there are less than 2 books in it. Somehow, this has started deleting the tag collection after being created, even though a similarly sized one 'fantasy' is left alone. The only difference between the two that might be relevant is the space in the middle. This worked well before the 2.0 release, and is still buggy in 2.5 (and the latest version of the Kindle Collections plugin. I hadn't updated the books on the device in a while, so am not sure when the problem appeared. Here is a screenshot of the plugin setttings: Spoiler:
Here is the relevant section of the report: Spoiler:

@webmaven: Note that the include column is actually expecting a regex, not plaintext, so I assume that's where something wonky is happening.
See if changing your include setting to (science fiction|fantasy|business|technology|policy) helps. Also note that if you do have a series called "Science Fiction", I have no idea how the clash between the tag & series rules will get resolved, and that may indeed trigger what you've experienced. I'm embarrassed to say that I did, with a single book in it. Editing the series name fixed the issue. Is that a user misstep you can guard against? |

I create collections using the correct procedure as well as all the collections, there are copies of all the books that aren't in collection. In effect, there two of every book on my device. What do I do?

@Waylander:
Play with the filtering settings of the Homescreen. (Note that this has changed behavior multiple times, and isn't consistent across all devices. Of particular note, CM on FW >= 5.4.2 does things 'wrong', which may lead to weird filtering results. LS should do it 'right' (i.e., like the FW itself)). Usually, the "Collections" view should only show Collections (obviously), and uncollected items, but this might have changed with the whole CloudCollections mess. Every other view will indeed show Collections & all items, regardless of wether they're in a collection or not (... and again, that might have changed with CloudCollections). |

I changed the view option to collections and that seems to have sorted it. Thanks for the advice anyway.

Hello
I've toyed aroudn with the plugin, and I manage to create collections in Calibre, send them to the Kindle, and then import them on the Kindle using CM However, I have tried the opposite: import in Calibre the collection status from the Kindle, and it doesn't seem to work. I have tried the export function both from CM and LS, both apps don't report any error, but when I import in Calibre, there is nothing imported What I did then was create in Calibre, send collection to Kindle, modify this collection in CM on Kindle, export, then try to re import. And then Calibre imports the collection in the state it was in when it was sent to the Kindle It seems that either: - CM and LS aren't generating a file correctly, or in the wrong place - The Calibre plugin doesn't import the right file Is there a way to troubleshoot any further? |

@LiLYoda: Can you post a screenshot of your current settings (especially the checkboxes)? There might indeed be a counter-intuitive behavior with some setting combinations.
I'll take a look at it next week. |
