Verrrrry late reply here because I assumed the forum would email me when there was an update and then forgot about it for two months, but Kindle Collections is working for me, so it looks like v1.7.28 did fix the bug I reported back in September

Hey NiLuJe, I was wondering, is there a way to use a kind of "cover" for the collection, or does the Kindle system forces us to use the default "folder" icon with the collection name under it?
I'm using a PW4 with 5.10.1.3 firmware, the latest version of LibrarySync, Calibre 4.23 and Collections Plugin 1.7.29 |

I vaguely recall that there might be a key for that in the appreg or the db or... something, but it's a single icon per type of things (e.g, the actual "this is a collection" icon), not per collection, which is why we never really looked into exposing it.
This may have changed since, I haven't looked at this stuff in years. |

Hi
Does librariansync works with KOA3 5.12.4? It’s seems to work but it’s making collections |

FW version is (mostly) irrelevant, the device being jailbroken is what matters.

Kindle Collections plugin not creating JSON file on Kindle
I just jailbroke my PW3 (and thanks to everyone who keeps these files and plugins and extensions current). I have the Kindle Collections plugin in Calibre and Librarian Sync on the Kindle. From reading the thread, it sounds like the plugin should create a JSON file with collection information when I select "Create collections on the Kindle from Calibre", but there's no sign of it on the Kindle.
I can tell Librarian Sync to update collections from the plugin, and I get a message at the bottom saying collections are updating, but it hangs and never completes. Appreciate any help. Last edited by medea111; 09-11-2021 at 06:27 PM. Reason: typo |

Make sure you're running the current version of LS (i.e., straight from github), and that you've got Python installed properly.
If necessary, run LS manually in a shell over USBNet to see what's failing. (Also, this doesn't have anything to do with the plugin per se, so this discussion really belongs in the LS thread). |

Hi, sorry to bother, I have read I have to "jailbreak" my kindle oasis to be able to use this collections plugin, but I have no idea how to do that or if it's damaging to the kindle oasis, that I don't want to damage since is my path to sanity.
If anyone could help me, how can I do this safely? Thank you, be well, Monica |
