That's false, the Cybook and all netronix clone have a RTC, so yes the time/date are saved when you turn it off. There is also a battery to give power to the RTC if you remove the main battery (but this battery will not last a long time alone.)

Just look at the mainboard pictures you can find somewhere here

There is plenty of positive things said in various threads. If you choose to read the "Firmware" thread then - I am sad to say - you're in for a very bad surprise: There is not much positive to say about that topic.

We all understand that you are happy with your device (and most of us including me are happy with the device, too) but that stubborn insistence that a company has no obligation whatsoever to keep their promises, is - sorry to have to say that - getting ridiculous. You maintained that there was no such promise but when posters here confronted you with written statements from Bookeen that they were going to release the firmware at the end of the first quarter of 2009, you chose to just ignore that and still troll in the "firmware" thread that people should stop "whining".

Another point you might be overlooking is that many of us get a chuckle out of all that "whining". By making fun of Bookeen we pass the time and have fun at that. Call it whining if you want but once of twice I actually caught myself wishing that the fw release would not be too soon so we could still have some fun at Bookeen's expense...

Since the title of the thread is "When will Bookeen post a new firmware update?" and since the date that Bookeen set for the firmware has come and gone, and since Bookeen continues to refer to the new firmware, what else is there to talk about in this thread?

The truth of the matter is days, weeks, months keep passing with no firmware update in sight, while Bookeen continues to refer to this vaporware, while Bookeen pushes out new devices running different variations of updated firmware....

What else can be said? Frustration abounds! There is no good news to state about Bookeen and their firmware update, so it's hard to put a positive spin on things.
