Okay, finished Enemy by K. Eason.

This was an enjoyable book (enough that I will consider purchasing the sequel), but there is a slight issue with the way the author breaks up sentences to push simultaneous internal dialogue, which may be too jarring for some readers. Good characterization.

I would recommend that anyone thinking of buying this book take a preview look at Chapter one and decide whether the occasional staccato delivery is acceptable.

No-brainer for me this time--going with Intrusion. It sounds like my kind of book and I think I'll actually read this one (so to speak--I'll most likely listen to the audio version when it comes out next month).

I went with The Temporary Agent. Cold sounds a bit better story-wise, until you get that disclaimer. Don't need detailed descriptions of torture, thank you very much.

Reading the editor's note, it seems that they're considering Arizona the wild west, and I guess San Francisco was too civilized by that time to be part of the wild west or something. I guess it works, sort of, but it's still a major error to have that in the blurb. Not sure that bodes well for the rest of the book.
