I've seen it get stuck on a 2.5MB file before - there's no fix at the moment I'm afraid. It's possible that the command-line X-Ray Builder would do better.

Originally I developed the Calibre plug-in without any access to a Kindle which displayed X-Ray, so I was never really able to test it properly. I have a Paperwhite now so at least I can run a few tests on it.
I do have a book which won't display the XRay property, so there should be a few bugs I can fix, when I get some spare time - although that might not be till after the World Cup. |

OK, here's a version with a few quick fixes, it was enough to get one of my books working (although I can still see a few improvements which could be made).

Here's a quick fix - it doesn't really solve the problem but it should allow the plug-into continue and generate the XRay file, even if it doesn't have all of the correct information in it. I haven't found any books in my collection which show this problem, so I can't test it. (And I can't read A Feast for Crows until the TV series has covered it. )

Not sure what the issue with Feast For Crows and the plugin is, but it does work ok in the command-line (12m to process in the plugin before the error, 15s in the stand-alone!). Attached is the file that mine generated for you to try, though I didn't tweak the aliases or anything so some characters are missing quotes/locations. Make sure to rename it to a .asc instead of .txt! I couldn't upload it as .asc. Last edited by Ephemerality; 09-01-2014 at 03:23 PM. |

Yet another Calibre plug-in version. This has a bunch of improvements - although for some reason when I load a file onto the Paperwhite, I get an error "The selected application could not be started" once or twice, before it starts loading and displaying it OK.
This generally improves the location identification if you're using aliases, but it's also much faster - for me "War and Peace" generates in 2 minutes instead of 13. There's also more progress reporting in the "job details" window if you want to see how it's going. |
