Does a 10 piece puzzle count? Just helping a granddaughter.
The PBM seldom listens to music. |

Actually, I listen to music a lot. I think I've got seven working MP3 players, three awaiting new batteries (and other modifications -- another hobby), and two that I keep for historical interest.
TPBM has fond memories of waiting for a radio with vacuum tubes to "warm up" and start playing. |

Ahhh... bringing back memories of a courtesy uncle's "portable" set with 3 batteries.
The PBM can't hear any real difference between a solid state and vacuum tube amplifier at normal sound levels. Last edited by DNSB; 07-24-2024 at 10:06 PM. |

No idea what you mean by this (radio? Never used the vacuum tube one, not old enough for that).
PBM sometimes loses all hope for the future of humanity. |

Doesn't everyone?
The PBM is already watching some of the Paris Olympics events that started before the opening ceremonies. Vacuum tube radios used more than one power supply voltage. Battery powered ones used a low voltage supply for the tube heaters and a 45-135V supply for the B supply (vacuum tube plate). My courtesy uncle's radio also used a 15V (??? going by old memories here) for the negative bias. He lived on a houseboat and did not have electricity. |

Not interested in the Olympics. When I was a child, they were exciting, but I lost interest in them decades ago, no idea why. The only sport events I watch these days are the big football championships (European and World).
PBM had no pets in their childhood. |

More of an indoor person. Too few power outlets outdoors.
The PBM loves camping. |

Only if walking in the rain counts as swimming.

Only in summer, the rest of the year it's too cold for T-shirts here.
PBM has moved more than 5 times in their life (as in changing their place of residence, not as in moving their arm or leg ) |

Sadly, yes. My father had a classic case of foot itch and horizon fever.
The PBM has not finished unpacking from their last move. |

As that move was over 20 years ago, yeah, I've finished unpacking.
PBM plans to move again in the future. |

Sadly, no choice. Our strata complex is being wound down and we will all have to move. The developers seem to be quite willing to throw money at us so simple greed rules. Basically, we are close enough to a Skytrain station to qualify for high density residential so the 46 units in our complex can be replaced by 3-4 25+ story buildings. OTOH, as usual for development, there are so many hoops to jump through that it's going to take quite a while yet until anything happens.
The PBM plans to stay in their current home until they are forced to move or pass away. |
