I had some kind of laser surgery in my late teens - I don't remember what exactly it was, but the goal was to slow down my rampaging nearsightedness, which had gotten pretty bad by then. As far I can tell, it worked for the most part - my eyesight more or less stabilized after that.
They don't do LASIK or its equivalent to me - I've been to a consultation about it. My nearsightedness is too advanced for laser surgery to have a significant positive effect - I would still have to wear glasses, at least for some activities, and the negative effects would outweigh the positive ones. The doctor said I would not be satisfied with the result, so there's no point in spending money on the procedure. I can see reasonably well with my glasses. PBM has had cataract surgery. |

I own swim trunks but haven't worn then in a decade. The last time I went to the local indoor pool, it was closed due to bacterial issues. I have no ambition to visit a beach and join the flapjack society.
The PBM does not like most raw vegetables. |

No. I usually feel sad. That's why I don't listen to music.
PBM can hear a blackbird singing just now. |

Sadness is part of nostalgia.
No blackbirds, just the barking of a neighbours dog. It's becoming a problem so I'm at that point of planning a conversation with the owner. TPBM has broken a bone. |
