I have a problem with using Store/restore. It works OK but leaves a banner behind! This banner cannot be closed and sits on top of any and all open windows!
Here is what it looks like but sometimes makes a very long banner!

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/zqgqf...=1qj228zx&dl=0

Any help would be much appreciated!

What operating system, version of calibre and version of the Kobo Utilities plugin are you using?

I use that option very often and haven't seen the banner left behind (Windows 11, calibre 7.16, Kobo Utilities 2.17.1 ).

Are you switching windows at any point while it's running? I've had prebious issues with Calibre dialogs glitching while alt+tabbing.

No - I am watching what it does. Something else about the banner. Apart from not being able to close it - I can't move it out of the way either though I can move the window under it to see what's happening.

I also use this feature. Mostly to store the reading positions. I too have never seen a banner left behind.

Thanks. Somehow I missed that post.

As for that banner, I've never seen it.

It shows up when storing reading positions with the width varying to contain the longest title. For me, it has always disappeared after the task has finished.

Interesting!! So why does yours disappear when mine doesn't? I have since tried removing the plugin and reinstalling it. No change :-(

Run Library > Library maintenance > Check library to make sure it isn't an issue with the Calibre db causing it to stall.

Thank you very much for the suggestion - but unfortunately it didn't work. Looks like from what PeterT said I may just have to put up with it.

When you are storing the reading positions, are you using the automatic setting or are you doing it manually?

I'm doing it automatically.
