I suppose also depends on how large the elided code is.
It can be fixed just as Kobo Metadata was fixed to be able to bypass Cloudflare. But someone has to want to do it and know how to do it. From what I understand, it's not all that easy to do.

FWIW, I was trying to adapt a bit of code kiwidude uses in his plugins - he has 'help' menu options in all his plugins which links to his github. I thought I could adapt it and replace it with the firmware links - failed pretty badly though

Unless someone wants to back out my changes and replace some or all of them with comments, I will release the new version tomorrow. Let me know if you will be doing this work.

For info, attached is the patch file that lists all the changes I made.

I have an issue with Kobo Utilities and/or Reading List. I use RL to automatically populate my Libra 2. I also have KU set to automatically update reading positions. When RL does its thing, KU does not update the reading position(s). Is there a fix for this?

Is "do not treat replacements as new books" enabled in your driver? I vaguely recall that when I had it turned off (this was before Kobo Utilities added the ToC update option and the only way to add new fanfic chapters was to force a re-import), sometimes a book wouldn't update the reading position if it was simultaneously on the send-to-device list.

I haven't seen it happen since enabling that option, though, so try enabling it if not.

If books are also being removed from device with your autopopulate list, that's another issue I've had - teh sync runs and removes the book before KU can grab the date.

I got a strange error when using "Get configuration from device" in the Set Reader Font option. Any idea what it means?

I think the file "Kobo eReader.conf" has a duplicated entry and, when the plugin analyze the file, it crashes. How has it reached there? No idea, but I think the only way to solve it is to edit the file manually before getting the configuration again.

I do have the option to not treat replacements as new books turned on. Also, with Reading list, there is nothing that would cause any books to be deleted. Only added. I do not add a book that I've finished reading as I'm done with it so there's no need to replace it.

Yeah, that was it - interestingly, I actually had the same issue months back and self-resolved it then - damned heatwave is making me fuzzy, I think.

I think I re-sorted one of my collections just before connecting, I have no idea why it'd glitch and duplicate the setting though.

Due to some issues I had to reset my Kobo Libra 2 back to factory. Since then, it is no longer storing the % read or date last read in Calibre.

In the Kobo Utilities Options, I have "Store current bookmarks/reading position on connect" selected and "prompt to store any changes." Is there another option I'm missing?

Calibre sees your reset device as a new one, but the settings are still locked to your old device. Re-add it in the configuration:

@chaley Thank you for your updating Kobo Utilities. That will help prevent error reports when checking for new firmware.

Strictly speaking I'm ONLY using the value of #koboreadpct so don't really need any of the other columns.

Finally I added the value #readstatus to the shelf value in the Kobo device driver (or the Kobo Extended device driver).

One final restart of calibre for safety and all is done.
Is this still the way to keep track of read location and read status? Has anything relevant changed?

"Finally I added the value #readstatus to the shelf value in the Kobo device driver (or the Kobo Extended device driver)."
For the extended driver, does this mean add #readstatus to the collections columns list? Is it a comma separated list?
