It depends on where I’m listening. If I’m out of the house then I’m listening via my iPhone and AirPods Pro 2nd Gen using either the Audiobookshelf (ABS) or Libby apps. These are the only apps I use. When Prologue gets ABS support I won’t use be using the ABS app.

If I’m in the house it depends on the room and the app I’m using to listen. In my bedroom I’m AirPlaying to my stereo HomePods 2nd Gen from either my iPhone or iPad Pro. In my office if I’m listening to a book I’ve purchased I’m listening on my M3 iMac directly via my Audiobookshelf server. If I’m listening to a library book via Libby I’m AirPlaying it from my iPhone to a HomePod mini. In the shower I’m also AirPlaying to a HomePod mini from my iPhone no matter which app the book comes from.

I use Libby or BookPlayer on my iPhone. I have sometimes used airplay to the Sonos ARC to play an eBook. When in bed, I use either the Apple Airpods or my Koss Portapro with the USB-C DAC dongle.

Nice! I’ve AirPlayed to a Sonos Beam 1st Gen back when my Mom still had one. I only did it a couple of times because I was listening to a book with her. I’m really glad there are ways for people to still use wired headphones. I never used BookPlayer. It looks nice.

BookPlayer does work well. The one thing I really like it the speed controls. I can change the speed by .1 or by .05. That means I can get a speed that I like with the particular audiobook.

I hate players that don’t allow that kind of speed control. I’ve already had to delete plappa because of the lack of sufficient speed control. Its speed options are 0.5, 0.75, 0.9, 1, 1.1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, and 2. That’s unacceptable for me. Am I the only one who thinks that list of choices is weird?
