Huh? I'm afraid you're very much mistaken - there are lots of third party sources for Wacom-compatible styluses. I bought one for my iRex DR1000, for example.

The old Iliad also had a Wacom digitiser.
Maybe they are talking about pressure sensitive high-resolution type pens?

My understanding (which may be in error) is that all Wacom pens are capable of generating pressure information. Whether or not that information is available to an application is a driver/firmware issue.
