I just noticed that the BB product page for the 900 is giving estimated shipping of one business day for new orders.

My order status changed from backordered to "Order in process of being fulfilled. Usually ships in 7-14 days." I had placed my order on Dec 30.

My BB order of the 900 just moved up a notched too! I'm wondering how long that's going to take to move it out of the warehouse? Hopefully they ship the dang thing today!

The confirmation email just came that my 900 is packed and ready for shipping. They gave me a UPS tracking number, but the item hasn't picked up from BB yet. Once the info is updated we will know from where the 900's are being shipped.

Quick update: My order status went to "SHIPPED" and I got a UPS tracking number as well. Right now, UPS does not recognize the tracking number, but hopefully, tomorrow the tracking status should be updated.. Finally, some progress !!

ok sorry, got a bit carried way there but I'm better now. UPS doesn't know my number either so I'm assuming it is sitting on a dock waiting to be picked up - we'll know for sure tomorrow.

According to my tracking information the 900 is coming from Ohio with an estimated delivery date of 1/26, when, of course, I will be out of town.

You and I are in precisely the same boat (except that I will be home on the 26th). So, for those of you who have yet to receive shipping confirmation, it's looking like 6 days to ship to the West Coast via standard shipping (I live in Los Angeles County, for those of you who also live in SoCal).

Mine was shipped from OH as well. Estimated arrival time is 1/21.. can't believe it !! Hoping it'll be here at least by Friday.. will post some initial impressions (from a newbie perspective, this is my first eReader).
