Just off the top of my head:
Can the Iliad connect to ad-hoc networks yet? If not, then the wireless manager needs to be fixed. Was power management ever implemented? What about the Mobi Reader implementation? That, for one, is still not complete. |

As I suspect you are aware, the iLiad firmware is no longer being updated, but on my iLiad at least, wireless networking and the Mobi reader worked OK. Did they not do so on yours? There was a battery upgrade programme to address power issues - didn't you send yours in to be upgraded?

The DR800 looks no doubt stylish.
But at that price, I wounder if the product can really offer more than the soon to be released lbook's A9 at $330 (provided Jinke keeps its word). Even if I consider import taxes and the like, it won't set me back by more than €300. Last edited by eLiNK; 01-13-2010 at 11:32 AM. |

I wonder what this means for US distribution. We still don't have any update on that.

The DR800SG looks like a really nice product, but it may well be worth seeing what Jinke can come up with for the A9. The A6 will probably be out first and give us some idea on the software front. |

I think € 499,-- without 3 G compared to the previous anounced US version with worlddwide 3G for $ 399,-- is really sick.

It is Linux, so the 3 non standard areas are the screen controller, agressive power management and the ADE. |

On the irex web shop, you can buy the DR800SG for $601.44.
https://www.irexshop.com/product_inf...products_id=80 No mention of the leather cover in the contents description. Some new images. The stylus looks a little different in a crappier way. Looks like the stylus for the iliad, so perhaps they drilled a hole somewhere for you to stick it in. Previous pic of stylus: Iliad stylus: Well, I guess they have some excess inventory to unload. For example, the Sony here is €299, the Boox is ranging from €299 to €399. So, €499 isn't too expensive, even though it is a large sum of money... |

I would have no problem with a 1:1 ratio. I do have a problem with a 1.25:1 ratio.

Since they now have it listed in the shop does this mean the deal with Best Buy is not going to happen? Seems odd they would list it there with a $600 price for US customers when you are supposed to be able to get it from Best Buy for $399 or $449 depending on which price was accurate.
Edit: Just looked at the webpage and although it shows in the US version of the shop it appears to only be available for select European countries. It does not contain any wireless capability. I had originally assumed they were just selling the US version, but without a 3G bundled service. From the looks of it this is a completely different device without the 3G capability. Worse than that, the DR800S is $600 but the DR800SG (with free Verizon OTA downloads from B&N) is ~$400. The 3G is almost useless, but I guess it is worth getting for a $200 discount.
