I think everyone in my family has at least 2 eBook reading devices. (either Kindles or Sonys and iPhones)
But always room for another! |

That makes sense rhadin. It hadn't occured to me that B&N corporate could be sold out, but the local stores could still have units to sell. I don't feel too bad though, because this apparently didn't occur to the New York Times reporter either.

I wo't be giving anyone a reader for Christmas, because all people I could give them too, and who could find a use for them aren't computer-literate enough to manage them, and to even remember about charging them. My mother destroyed 2 PocketPCs in 6 months already, so I know there's no point in buying the third one.

Damned expensive Christmas present. I prefer to give people socks. You can never have too many socks ...

My husband was going to give me a Nook for Christmas to go with my Touch and 700. My husband just wants to keep my books off of his 505. Now I don't know.

Thinking about getting my Mother a Nook, but it'll probably be on backorder.

If I could get PRS-505s or similar for under $30, sure.
For more than $100, the devices will need to become a hell of a lot better. |

I'd like to give my mother a Sony Reader (probably PRS-600). She spends a small fortune on paperback mystery novels, and her local library has a reciprocal agreement with the Chicago Public library. She still seems dubious about ereaders in general, but I think she'd enjoy it and would really like being able to change the size of the text. But, alas, I do not think we can afford to buy her one this year. Maybe when I have enough Sony points.
