If I save a Calibre library to Mega, then download it from there somewhere else and compare it, then they are completely the same - then this library in Calibre works.

Not sure how reliable the Google sync with desktop app is nowadays though. Syncing to box virtual drive with free file sync seems to work well.
For a library backup, you need enough space And a fast reliable upload process

I re-checked OneDrive: app close (swipe up) or device restart right after CC linked to OneDrive does not produce error message.

I agree. But It's up to the developers to assess demand for cloud solutions and decide what to support

Placing a Copy, not the source library ,into cloud for 24/7 access is reasonably safe.

Ps in response to another post. Mega co.nz free 50gb is only for one month, then it reduces to 15gb. And they don't allow 3rd party access.

Is it every possible to use Google Drive to make COPY ? (i.e. don't mess at all with source library) using standard gdrive client?

Speaking of cloud solutions - I would like webdav support (if it will remember login) a lot.

I wonder if that is enforced by one drive, and thus not controllable. A test would be to connect to one drive via a different android app, if there is one, and see if connection persists. I don't have one drive so I cant do it

Yes. I did it but it is tedious. You have to install Google desktop sync and configure it to sync your calibre liibrary (dangerous) or to sync yet another local copy (safer)
Then leave it for ages because upload is very slow
The Google sync settings are very confusing , and I decided not to keep that product installed at all, after testing. But in theory it will sync any selection of local folders, from anywhere on your pc. With confusing options for how local or cloud deletes are handled.

My test was a while ago, with the older version of cc, and was a fail in that cc could not find the library copy within all the other stuff I have in g drive

It was fine until the recent round of app updates.

No issues with staying connected to OneDrive in other apps.

I do have
Autosync for OneDrive - OneSync (basically Autosync family of apps connect to specified cloud service and makes it possible to sync/upload/download data between device and cloud, automatically if necessary). It keeps it's connection with OneDrive without issues.
