Yes, I did get them confused. Sorry.

Now no reason at all not to at least have the Kindle for sale (or at least on display) in local Target stores.

I think Kiosks would be a great way to sell eBooks for a wide variety of devices. Everywhere the device is sold a Kiosk could be close by in the same store providing ongoing customer contact with the store they purchased their reader in. Many retailers would welcome continued value instead of a one time sale.
