It may be good on iOS but both Google Play and AppBrain for android rate it poorly; there are much better ebook reader apps out there for free.

If the android version is poorly rated, and the windows version is already generating negative comments on the forum, would tend to indicate the app is poor in general so better to continue reading rather than suffer a poor app.

I installed it last night and while it does look good potentially, it's completely worthless to me. It only works in landscape... And I loathe reading in landscape.

If you haven't already done so, check settings to see if the orientation lock is turned on. I am making an assumption that this is an option in the Windows app.

Couple of things I don't like is that hyphenation is turned off and that eBooks are automatically added to the Bluefire library and that's going to eat disk space that I don't want to waste. The library adding should be an optionand hyphenation can also be a configuration option. But for now until these are fixed, I'll stick with ADE 2.

and this is done how?(from their website)
Key Features: • Track your unique users to learn how and when your branded apps are being used • Monitor the devices and form factors your customers are using to make more informed decisions about your mobile web design marketing strategy • Monitor trending titles to measure the impact of your marketing campaigns and price promotions |

That is from the Bluefire website and refers to the version they sell to firms who want a branded reader to tie in with their own store.

About the "let's copy a book to my location instead of just using the original location", I can live with that, I'll just delete it once I've read the book. It'll still be available to me in the Calibre folder... |

So which better, free Windows 7 program (not Windows 8 app) would you recommend to 'continue reading' with?

Just on a side note related to Readium, Bluefire was a founding member of the Readium Foundation (along with Kobo, Evident Point, and the IDPF) almost two years ago now, and we've been a very active contributor ever since. I also serve on the board of directors of the Readium Foundation.
We are working on integrating Readium SDK into our apps and we'll be doing some interesting things in the browser. Exciting stuff. |

Unfortunately device rotation support on Windows did not make our 1.0 cut. So, no there is no rotation lock either at this point.

That said, we did not try to reproduce all features of ADE, rather focused on providing features it does not have, such as themes, font choices, margin settings, night mode, export annotations, and page location sync with mobile devices. FYI, in regards to Android, we spent the latter half of last year adding sync support, and in the last 6 months we've been working hard on a complete overhaul of the UI. Hope to ship that major update later this summer. There some great apps on Android such as Aldiko and Mantano, so can't say we'll be the best (yet) but we are working, working. |
