Thanks--I need a keyboard shortcut that works outside of Calibre--for example, when browsing the web--it would be nice to be able to copy text to the clipboard then run the clipboard text search without first switching to Calibre.

Beta for calibre 6 and Qt6
Attached is a beta that should work with calibre 5 and the calibre 6 beta. There are no change in function, just the few changes needed to get the plugin working.

If anyone else reports this as working, I'll update the release version.

Update to version 1.3.2
I have just updated the plugin to version 1.3.2. This is to make it compatible with calibre version 5 and the upcoming calibre version 6 with Qt6.

The update is identical to the recent beta.

Calibre should announce the update in the next hour or so.

Thanks to @kacir for the suggestion. This adds an "Author search" feature to the plugin, so your clipboard text is specifically checked against the authors field in calibre, rather than just an unqualified search.

Updated this plugin to version 1.5.0. As a result, an error is now reported.

The contents are as follows.
File "calibre_plugins.clipboard_search.action", line 76, in default_search_using_clipboard_text
TypeError: ClipboardSearchAction.search_using_clipboard_text( ) got an unexpected keyword argument 'is_exact_search'

My caliber is version 7.7.0.
Is there a problem with my environment?
