Oui, mais là, Amazon, ou la FNAC si j'en crois ce que tu me dis, joue bien un rôle d'éditeur mais en allant chercher la "matière première" chez Gutemberg ou d'autres... Cela ne justifie certes pas de les pirater, mais franchement...

Faux. L'éditeur n'est pas Amazon ou la fnac, c'est quelqu'un qui est allé chercher le texte libre de droit sur Gutenberg et l'a remis en forme. Ce peut aussi être un éditeur qui a déjà une version papier et l'a numérisée et mise au format epub. Après, le travail de mise en forme est plus ou moins bon et plus ou moins cher payé, je ne dis pas que toutes les éditions se valent, mais payer 1 ou 2 euros pour un texte correctement vérifié et mis en page ne me semble pas excessif. Mais il vaut mieux faire son marché avec circonspection, je pense qu'il y a des petits malins qui ne s'embêtent pas trop

Amazon avait eu des soucis, avec des petits malins qui avaient décidé de vendre 1984 alors qu'ils n'en avaient pas le droit. Quand Amazon s'en était rendu compte, quelqu'un chez eux avaient trouvé malin d'effacer les livres concernés directement sur les Kindle des acheteurs Parfois, je me demande si ça n'a pas été fait exprès (de choisir 1984) dans le but de tester la réaction d'Amazon

Une précision : les livres libres de droits vendus sur Amazon le sont généralement via leur système d'auto-publication. N'importe qui peut a priori ouvrir un compte chez eux et commencer à vendre. Je ne pense pas que ça marche comme ça à la FNAC, qui travaille avec des éditeurs. Il n'empêche que la FNAC vend des livres libres de droit, comme tous les libraires. Quand vous achetez Zola, Flaubert ou Balzac en livre de poche, vous pensez qu'ils perçoivent des droits d'auteur ?

C'est vrai que je ne m'étais jamais posé la question ! Mais, naïvement, sans doute, je pensais qu'il existait des ayants droits quelques part...
Il n'y a pas une règle qui dit que c'est seulement après un certain nombre d'années sans parutions qu'un livre devient libre de droits . Je pensais qu'il suffisait aux ayants droits de faire paraître une édition de temps en temps pour garder la manne... |

Et pour info, a ma connaissance, Gutemberg n'interdit pas la vente de livres tiré de leur base, du moment que le nom Gutemberg n'est pas mis a contribution.

De mémoire (mais je me trompe peut-etre) Eden est le "centre de partage" entre toutes les librairies, ie ce qui permet a epagine, fnac, numilog & co de partager leur catalogue
