Sleeves are not good for traveling as you are not reading at home and you don't know what could happen with a naked Reader. |

...I agree that a flip case / sleep sleeve is likely more protective, but I have managed fine without one for years, travelling extensively for work. Problem now solved...thank you for the replies.

What I did on my Kobo Clara HD is to add a skin decal. It said 'carbon fiber' on the website, but it ended up being a carbon fiber designed matte skin instead of a textured one. Either way, it does help with gripping the ereader. My habits are the same as yours - no case when reading/using, sleeve for storing.
There are also tablet/phone 'straps' that you can put on the corners of the device to slide your hand into. The straps are textured so it helps with grip even if you don't slide your hand in. |

The felt sleeve I use is no longer produced but is similar to https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/6144...hulle-aus-filz
The 'sleep sleeve' I erroneously refer to is the Kobo type cover on their website, which they label 'sleep cover'. Last edited by Missoni; 09-06-2024 at 01:23 AM. |

The Kobo clear case works nicely (after 30 seconds of testing). Lightweight and sufficiently grippy.
A skin that adds some grippyness would be nice, as it would be lighter still. FWIW, I never found a skin for my phone that would make it less slippery and had to resort to a case. Has anyone found a good skin? If so, please link. |

Does it wrap around the side rather than being a front piece and a back piece? A bit more grip is all I'm looking for. The clear case works, but I find something odd about the hand feel. EDIT: Here's an example with a finish with texture https://mightyskins.com/products/koc...5c900278&_ss=r (they offer matte, carbon fiber and glossy). Last edited by foosion; 09-11-2024 at 04:00 PM. |

...I did not go for the skin, as I find patterns distracting but did try the strap. The Kobo clear case is the best compromise for me at the moment. My preference would still be a matt black bare unit with a rubberised or other grippy material for the case back...

Grippy material for the back?
Try attaching and ArmorSuit glossy screen protector I once installed it on an Onyx Boox (8-inch) and it really improved the grip! You buy just one large screen protector of any size and cut it down. I hope Kobo BW’s porous texture will not make it stick bad |
