When will the Que be available?

According to various blogs, the Que is cancelling pre-orders.

"Plastic Logic has canceled all pre-orders and is no longer offering a date as to when we can see the Que in the real world. It has also stopped taking pre-orders for the device.

“We need to let you know that since your unit will not ship on June 24 as planned, our automated ordering system has automatically canceled your order,” Plastic Logic sent in an e-mail to its customers."

with the new generation of 9" eink devices I don't see how plastlogic can recover.
They should have launch QUE last year.

The Que is to be their first platform to show off their plastic tech. Whether it gets produced or not- and it will- they arent going away , as their core tech is quite incredible and they are making it better all the time. they have good funding and excellent backers.

Fine! I knew that. But what does it say about a company that cannot bring out a product which was announced for 2009? I think this is a major disappointment and speaks badly about a company from the point of view of an investor. And do they hold patents for plastic transistors? If not, I wouldn't put all my eggs on the plastic basket as an investment.

Totally agree with you btw on the one point. they should have had the silly thing out last December. the firmware apgrades could have been a plus along the way. the last time i got to handle it in May it was much improved speed wise versus how it was in January. But much of that was simply by getting the development crap out of the code. At teh least it shoudl have been shipping in January during CES.

The design we will get when/if it ships will be more like a version 2. new processor and new Pearl display. hopefully with an SD slot.

And hopefully $200 cheaper cause the Kindle DX be just 1 inch smaller and already $50 cheaper than the iTampon. And I'm pretty sure that most business people prefer pen and paper for taking notes. So all those bells and whistles are pretty much useless.
