I had a really hard time deciding between a couple of choices and there are about six that I'd like to read so I'm hoping any of them win. In the end I voted for:
xx xxxx xxxxxxxxxx Now as you can see I used "x"es that are in no way mysterious clues and so that absolutely no one can figure out what I voted for! |

I voted for the one I have on my 650. But, I have a few others I've managed to get in case they win since they do sound interesting.

This isn't a genre with which I am all that familiar and all the selections sound very interesting. It was a tough choice.

I too didn't vote for the one I nominated. Someone came up with a better option.

I'm afraid that the only one on the list that I am interested in reading soon, The Roman Hat Mystery, came in a distant fourth. So I won't vote in the runoff.
If there are others who are interested in that first Ellery Queen, I will read it anyway in July, and maybe we can start a thread about it. Any interest? |

The Roman Hat Mystery shared its distant 4th place with my pick, Heat Wave. I too will be abstaining from the vote-off, and will continue reading the Honorverse series, instead.

The runoff poll is up. A bit late, as I was super tired when I got home this morning and despite my best efforts just couldn't stay awake for that half-hour until the first poll ended. I slept until after 4:00. Normally the dogs wake me up before that time. I must have even slept through their efforts! At any rate, it looks as if we have three fine choices this month. My Perry Mason nomination didn't come close in the preliminary vote, but I can't blame you youngsters for not wanting to go old school. Likewise, my second choice, the Ellery Queen mystery, did rather poorly in the voting. But in Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters, A Drink Before the War by Dennis Lehane and The Necropolis Railway by Andrew Martin, it looks like we have three most excellent choices from which to choose. Happy voting and may the best book win!
