How to flash a JDRead2 to Poke3

Hi, Renate,
After i flash the recovery and misc in edl mod, I finally can boot into the recovery which is a blank screen like you said.
But other problems occurred.
First time i tried a 16g u-drive which is a GPT partition table formatted as fat32.
The system shows a "Flash Partition of unknow type ee" error.
Second time tried a 4g u-drive whihc is a mbr partition table formatted as fat32.
The system shows a "Could not make dir for mount" error.

Do both error are related to my u-drive or the device itself?

Seems it' working now.
I first type in adb shell.
And then from the shell i start the autoupdate and then plug in the otg adapter.
it's now writing blocks.

This is the last message i taken when it's writing blocks.
Dose it looks good?
The system still reboots to recovery after update is complete.
I've tried adb reboot system, but it still reboot to recovery.
How can i make it boot to the system?

The problem was that you did it twice, the mkdir was already done.
I fixed that just now.

In any case, I hadn't wanted to modify the old version too much.
Just run this command:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/by-name/misc bs=1 count=16
reboot

I skip the first line of your command and only use the reboot command in the adb shell, and the device successfully boot the poke3 3.5 system.

It seems everything works fine now.

Do i need to reboot to recovery and exec your first line?

Or do i need to do any other reset procedures?

No, that was only if for some reason you got stuck in recovery.

I only see two variants of Poke3, one is JDread2 and the other is WeRead 1st gen.

It's all written in this thread how to do it:

• Download the latest Poke3 update http://firmware-us.boox.com/729099b8...0db/update.upx
• Decrypt it with https://github.com/Hagb/decryptBooxUpdateUpx
• Edit the first line (or two) of META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script to remove lines that say "die" and put it back in the zip.
• Download my edl.exe and the sdm636 loader
• adb reboot edl
• edl /lsdm636.bin
• edl /w /precovery p9mod
• edl /w /pmisc misc-recovery
• edl /z
• adb shell start autoupdate

Yes. But make a backup first anyway.
