I stashed these "final" copies on April 21, 2019 after Kovid indicated that Python 3 was on the horizon, and before I began to use the Calibre Polyglot library to convert from Python 2 to Python 3. Calibre 3.41.0 was the current Calibre version on that date.

If you use any or all of those plugins you should have already received update notices for each and everyone one of them and if you used the link provided to the plugin's thread and looked at the Version History you would have seen entries such as this

Version 2.1.9 - 19 December 2019 Technical changes after Python 3.8 testing with Calibre 4.99.2
Version 2.1.8 - 16 December 2019 Technical Tweaks after compiling with Python 3.8
Version 2.1.7 - 22 July 2019 Technically restructured and simplified to improve performance.
Version 2.1.6 - 23 May 2019 Python 3 compatibility.

If you want to know which plugins are python 3 compliant refer to this list ==>> List of PIs to be ported to Python 3

Everything in that list that has been struck out has been converted to Python version 3 and tested with calibre 4.99.x, conversely everything in that list that has not been struck out has not been converted to Python version 3 and tested with calibre 4.99.x.

I was confused about future development, because I've seen virtually identical wording used by developers when they stopped development of their extensions for other software.

There is zero chance that you have ever seen anyone else use "virtually identical wording" as found in the Original Post, since that wording is extremely specific in subject and content. Not a chance. That means that you didn't really read it, and jumped to wrong conclusions.

Original upload date: 1 September 2020.

The current official version of Calibre on this date is Calibre 4.23.

These all have a minimum version of Calibre 4.6.

If you stay on Calibre 4, these deep copies will be of use in the future if you lose your Calibre configuration, or at least your plugins.

Since these plugin .zip files have a generic file name, be careful to not unintentionally overlay them with another version with the identical file name, and vice-versa.

Isn't that the last version that can run on XP?

Kovid pulled 2.0 for XP because of high percentage of fails. I happen to have an XP computer WITH 2.0 ( had stuff that did not work with W7. Never had 2K or ME )

If it works why not, I know of several people running calibre 2.48 on Windows 10/11.

These will work properly only in Calibre Version Less Than 5.99.0.

Some are compatible with Calibre 6.0.0+. MCS requires 6.7+. EPOM requires 6.11+. Job Spy, Q&S, ABCH and a few more require 6.15+.

You should upgrade Calibre to 6.15+.

This is the last version of the Find Duplicates plugin with the advanced search. This version is not official and is not supported anymore. So please don't ask for support in the Find Duplicates thread.

Update: This version of the plugin will not work with calibre versions > 6.27.0.
