When's that vacation you need so badly? The stress isn't going to go away - you have to walk away from it. Hey! Tell the pt that!
Trouble is, I took a huge vacation earlier this year, so I got nothing for time off. Just found out that I have Independence Day off, so I get a three day weekend, coming up.

There is, but he'd have a fool for a patient.

I am currently listening to nothing. Just the ambient sounds in my cube farm.

Or perhaps you could say I am listening to John Cage's 4′33″ on constant repeat.

Old Shoes by Drugstore is beautiful, as is Martha by Jeff Buckley (it'll break your heart...)
Horrible Tom Waits? Blasphemy....

Of course... yeah, there's a good chunk of his stuff that I'd rather put a whole in my head than listen to, but Time, Martha, Ol' 55, Downtown Train (Rod Stewart... uck!), Christmas Card from a Hooker...

At any rate... Jeff Buckley doing a cover of Martha? I'm so there!

(His version of Cohen's "Hallelujah" = greatest song in the universe.)

to be honest i prefer Cohen's version of "Hallelujah" but i can't argue with the "greatest song in the universe" part... (well... along with a few of Tom Waits' ...)

I'm listening to a load of swifts squeaking and shrieking as they circle round the sky. They'll stop in the next half-hour, as it gets dark. Then the foxes will come out and play noisily. All the wildlife seems to have moved into the cities round here.

Very interesting. Seems sort of nice to think about, actually.
