Calibre's default 25 'saved' search history items increased to 100
Version 1.0.17 -2016-04-17 New: Calibre's default of 25 saved search history items has been increased to 100. The additional 75 history items are appended to the bottom of the 25 items saved by Calibre, totaling up to as much as 100. The additional items are first sorted alphabetically prior to appending.
A new Customization option to "purge" all but the newest 25 saved search history items (i.e., the Calibre default 25) has been added. See the attached image. DaltonST Last edited by DaltonST; 04-17-2016 at 04:52 PM. Reason: Info added. |

New GUI Tool: Copy 'Saved Searches' of the Current Library to a Target Library
Version 1.0.19 -2016-04-19 New GUI Tool: Copy 'Saved Searches' of the Current Library to a Target Library.
Any pre-existing Saved Searches of the Target Library will be retained, of course. However, if the Current Library and the Target Library have the identical name for a particular Saved Search, then the criteria of the newly copied Saved Search will replace the previously existing criteria of the identically named Target Library Saved Search. Similar to above, a timeline graph by year and month for a selected date column, would be a nice to have.

Interesting plugin, especially like the metadata visualizer. I've noticed two cosmetic bugs:
Is it possible to substitute the icons by placing them in "resources\images\Job Spy". (also tried JobSpy, JS+) It doesn't seem to work for me. When adding a submenu like Visualize Metadata to kiwidude's Favourites Menu plugin, the icon doesn't show and it doesn't open anything when selected. (The top level work fine) Enjoy your work, can't wait to see what's next. |

Version 1.0.25 - New GUI Tool: Purge metadata.opf Backup Queue
Version 1.0.25 -2016-05-08 New GUI Tool: Purge metadata.opf Backup Queue
Does what it says. User discretion is advised. Useful when all of the books are queued after making a major library change, although the change has nothing to do with a particular book but instead was library-management related. So, no need to refresh the metadata.opf files. Also, if you do not back up the metadata.opf files since there are so many in a large library and it takes such a long time to create the backup, but rather you back up metadata.db itself, this will flush the queue so needless metadata.opf file activity can be obviated. See the attached example. DaltonST n.b. For my CALM add-on users, the 'Library Tools' Tab has a pushbutton to run calibredb to back up all metadata.opf files en masse for all 'Source Libraries' as fast as possible. Normally, they would be backed up automatically by Calibre at a rate of no faster than ~1 per second, but only when you were currently viewing a particular library. CALM gets the job done much faster, and on your schedule, when you want to do it. And it does it for all 'Source Libraries' at once. CALM has this functionality because it also can update the metadata of all 'Source Libraries' en masse via the various 'Metadata Tools' Tab, such as for standardizing Tags, Genre, Custom Columns, etc. See the attached image. |

New GUI Tool: Extract Original Title/Translator to Update Custom Columns (EPUBs)
Version 1.0.28 -2016-05-12 New GUI Tool: Extract Original Title/Translator to Update Custom Columns (EPUBs)
See the attached image. The functionality is generic as to language. I have tuned it especially for Spanish, because I read Spanish fluently and have thousands of EPUBs written in Spanish to test with, but I do not read French or German well enough to tune this new functionality for those particular languages. If needed, there is always the S&R Tab in Bulk-Edit Metadata. DaltonST |

Version 1.0.32 - Redesigned Protect/Unprotect Dialog
Version 1.0.32 -2016-05-19 Redesigned Protect/Unprotect Dialog; tweaks to the daemon.
This is intended for someone who either has a huge number of Custom Columns, or someone who truly never wants to see certain Custom Columns in the Edit Metadata dialogs. See the attached example. Please note its comment about #pages. DaltonST Last edited by DaltonST; 05-20-2016 at 04:56 AM. Reason: image changed. |

Added an 'export raw data to .csv file' option to the Visualize Metadata GUI Tool
Version 1.0.39 -2016-05-26 New: Added an 'export raw data to .csv file' option to the Visualize Metadata GUI Tool.
This is useful if you want a .csv file with a list of all of the discrete values for a certain metadata column, including the number of books having that value. See the attached image. DaltonST |

Hey, good job! I love your set of tools and keep exploring its features.
Just one thought about the Protect/Unprotect Dialog (hiding custom columns): it would be great to have a quick way to change from one 'view' (set of custom columns in the Edit Metadata dialog) to another. Maybe an optional menu with pre-defined sets of columns (apricots, cherries etc.) could be introduced, so that the user could switch between the views without opening the tool? The menu could be added (optionally) to the 'Favorites' menu. When you clicked on it, you would get a submenu with Apricots, Cherries, Papayas etc. Then, clicking on 'Apricots' in the menu would launch the sequence of: Use 'Apricots', Update 'Editable' per Current Settings, Restart Calibre. This could come in handy e.g. for those of us who have different (and numerous) custom columns for different virtual libraries. What do you think about it? |
