Right on. Thank you! Is that a Mike Mignola cover? I think so.

Katie by Michael McDowell is also $3 on Amazon.

Quote:
When Philo Drax receives a letter from her wealthy grandfather saying he fears for his life at the hands of the vicious Slape family, she rushes to the rescue. But too late! Katie Slape, a monstrous girl with psychic powers and a penchant for smashing skulls with her hammer, has already finished him off and gotten hold of his cash.

Determined to track down the murderers, Philo hunts Katie and her family through the streets of 1860s New York, where the Slapes’ coffers are filling up with money as their cellar fills up with corpses. But going after the Slapes might be the worst decision of Philo’s life, for no one escapes the bashing of Katie’s hammer!

A bloody, action-packed romp, Katie (1982) is a throwback to the exciting and violent “penny dreadfuls” of the Victorian era and features the same brilliant writing as Michael McDowell’s classic horror novels The Elementals and Blackwater.

Right on. Mignola also did some great covers for White Wolf's Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser books. He should really do more covers.

What Feasts at Night by T. Kingfisher is $3 in the US (Kobo, Amazon)
Follow-up to What Moves the Dead, which I loved - it was a retelling of The Fall of the House of Usher, and much superior to it IMO. I think these are standalone stories, so you won't miss much jumping into this, besides some background for the recurring characters.
Quote:
After their terrifying ordeal at the Usher manor, Alex Easton feels as if they just survived another war. All they crave is rest, routine, and sunshine, but instead, as a favor to Angus and Miss Potter, they find themself heading to their family hunting lodge, deep in the cold, damp forests of their home country, Gallacia.

In theory, one can find relaxation in even the coldest and dampest of Gallacian autumns, but when Easton arrives, they find the caretaker dead, the lodge in disarray, and the grounds troubled by a strange, uncanny silence. The villagers whisper that a breath-stealing monster from folklore has taken up residence in Easton’s home. Easton knows better than to put too much stock in local superstitions, but they can tell that something is not quite right in their home. . . or in their dreams.

A Dark Matter by Peter Straub is $2 at Amazon, B&N and Kobo US.

I've not yet read A Dark Matter, but Straub is great. He, King and Little are my three favorite horror authors.

Quote:
“One of the most adroit masters of the supernatural thriller” (San Francisco Chronicle) delivers a chilling novel about a man seeking the truth about what happened on a horrifying night on a Midwestern campus in the 1960s. • "Terrifying.... Impossible to put down." —Stephen King

On a college campus, a charismatic guru and his young acolytes perform a secret ritual in a local meadow. What happens is a mystery—all that remains is a gruesomely dismembered body and the shattered souls of all who were present. Forty years later, one man seeks to learn about that horrifying night, and to do so he’ll have to force those involved to examine the unspeakable events that have haunted them ever since.

The Listener by Robert McCammon is $3 at Amazon, B&N and Kobo US.

This is a new book, just published in April.

Quote:
Economic collapse. Crushing unemployment and breadlines crowding city streets as crime spirals out of control. The Great Depression has enough misery for all, and some to spare. But for angel-faced grifter John Partlow, the American South in 1934 is a land of opportunity. The small-time confidence man stumbles into the big leagues when he partners up with beautiful hustler Ginger LaFrance. Seduced into her high stakes plot to kidnap the young children of a New Orleans shipping magnate, John realizes he’s in over his head when Ginger’s fierce desire to see her scheme succeed could mean a gruesome end for their innocent victims.

Unless young Nilla can wield her secret gift in time. Though she’s never heard the term, nine-year-old Nilla is a Listener—someone who can telepathically pick up on the thoughts of others like themselves. Nilla has started to communicate with another Listener—a young black man struggling to find his way as a porter at the Union Station. Their lives couldn’t be more different, and though they have never met, their shared bond is so strong that Curtis is ready to risk it all to answer her cry for help. But will it be enough to save two children from the merciless hands of hardened criminals?

The Open Road ebook is new. The novel was originally published by Cemetery Dance in 2018.
While it's labeled as horror on Goodreads, and was nominated for a Locus award in that category, reviewers suggest it's a misleading label.

Yeah, I found that out when I added the book to my caliber library

That original Cemetery Dance cover that looks like concrete is awful.

Primal Terra by Tim Meyer
Amazon US $0.99

Quote:
Three days ago, Carla Scarletta chased a jewel thief into his New York City apartment. When she kicked down the door, the last thing she expected to find was a portal into a lost world.

Today, Phil Moody gets a visit from an old friend. He claims Phil's ex-wife has gone missing, that she’s currently alive but in grave danger… sixty-five million years in the past. Now, Phil, along with a team of mercenaries and one celebrity paleontologist, must step into the portal, travel into a dinosaur-infested world and cross dangerous terrain to find the woman he maybe still loves. But that’s not all they’re after. The jewel thief has stolen something else, something that could alter their concept of reality and catastrophically damage the universe.

But time is running out. If they don’t hurry, the portal will close, trapping them in this primal world… forever.

New $2.99 deal from Valancourt Books at Amazon

Out for Blood by John Peyton Cooke

Quote:
An avid reader of Dracula and a fan of old Hammer horror films, Chris Callaway has always fantasized about becoming a vampire—and the idea of immortality is even more alluring now that he has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. So when a vampire appears at his apartment and offers him eternal life as one of the undead, Chris jumps at the opportunity.

But unexpected terrors await him in the world of the night. A new enemy, relentless and insatiable, is hunting vampires for his own evil purposes. And unless Chris can stop him, he will face a fate even worse than death ...

One of the few gay-themed novels of the horror publishing boom of the ’80s and ’90s, John Peyton Cooke’s groundbreaking and tremendously entertaining Out for Blood (1991) returns to print at last in this edition, which includes a new afterword by the author.
The other current $2.99 Valancourt title is In the Eyes of Mr. Fury by Philip Ridley, which sounds like magical realism fantasy.

Drood by Dan Simmons is $2 at Amazon, B&N and Kobo US.

Quote:
On June 9, 1865, while traveling by train to London with his secret mistress, 53-year-old Charles Dickens -- at the height of his powers and popularity, the most famous and successful novelist in the world and perhaps in the history of the world -- hurtled into a disaster that changed his life forever.

Did Dickens begin living a dark double life after the accident? Were his nightly forays into the worst slums of London and his deepening obsession with corpses, crypts, murder, opium dens, the use of lime pits to dissolve bodies, and a hidden subterranean London mere research . . . or something more terrifying?

Just as he did in The Terror, Dan Simmons draws impeccably from history to create a gloriously engaging and terrifying narrative. Based on the historical details of Charles Dickens's life and narrated by Wilkie Collins (Dickens's friend, frequent collaborator, and Salieri-style secret rival), Drood explores the still-unsolved mysteries of the famous author's last years and may provide the key to Dickens's final, unfinished work: The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Chilling, haunting, and utterly original, Drood is Dan Simmons at his powerful best.
