it was stuck on 100% for about 2 days with about 1 - 1.5hrs reading. then it began discharging 'normally' and has only been going down at barely 1%/hour. I haven't used the light.
so, what did I do? - drain battery till it wouldn't turn on and a message came up begging for juice. - charged it till it was 100% and said no more time till charged - set cpu to remain @ 312mhz. Page turns are a little slow but not bad and no other noticeable differences. - greenified everything i could. - was verrry luck! this may not last for the next charge of course... |

Also, when you wrote that you set the CPU, did you do that with the Greenify app? I ended up resetting mine back to the factory reset again to see if battery life and the sleep/off issues are better without the latest firmware updates. |

I've moved to Energy Sistem eReader Pro+'s firmware (which is in fact the same device as Boyue T62+ aka T62D) and although it's mainly the same experience with just a few more options every here and there (like coming with Google Play preloaded) so far I've been happier with it than when I was using Boyue's firmware.
The device now uses Far less power than before, both while it's being used and while it's inactive or asleep. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=254042 (Read my posts in pages 4 and 5) |

Battery Life Restored
I was also recently having the problem with the Boyue T62 that the battery would run out in a few days, with a battery monitor app I installed showing the use was almost entirely screen. It is now working fine, like when I first got the reader.
I made a few changes last weekend so I cannot say for certain which is responsible for the improved battery life. I made the changes last Sunday and barely turned it on for the first few days and it stayed at 100%. Since then I have only used it for brief periods and it remains at 85% six days later. I left it with WiFi on during this period but apps were Greenified so it was not wasting power for tasks working in the background. Here are the three things I did last Sunday. Note 2 and 3 required a rooted phone. 1) I did at least the third system update in the last month or so. Hopefully this means that they fixed the problem in the last system update, and I suspect this was the most important factor. 2) Initially when I got this (and had good battery life) I just installed SetCPU and left it at the setting it showed on installation--Max of 1008 and Min of 504. On Sunday I reset the minimum down to 312. This might be playing some role but considering how rapidly the battery was dying the previous couple of weeks I doubt that this alone would add this much to the battery life. 3) I got more aggressive with Greenify. I initially installed just the app and Greenified most of the apps I could. Last week I added the Xposed module to activate the experimental features, and added system apps to the apps Greenified. I doubt this is playing a role as the previous week the battery was dying with WiFi turned off and the battery monitor not showing any significant use of apps. My main thought was this might help a bit further, as I prefer to keep WiFi on so it will automatically sync the page position (Using Moon+ Reader and Dropbox) whenever the reader is turned on. This way Google Play is Greenified and won't try to update apps except when I want it to. UPDATE: This all worked well for a while. Now suddenly it has resumed using up the battery very rapidly, with a battery monitor app generally showing the screen as using almost all the power. Last edited by rchusid; 06-21-2015 at 03:15 PM. |

received my energy sistems pro + today and am not a happy bunny. The device itself is lovely and very well packaged, however it has a major fault in that the lower left part of the screen is unresponsive to touch, I therefore can't input @ or x or z.I suppose I could install a different keyboard but I can't access the play store ! Im awaiting customer support to contact me, I imported this device from spain so Really dont wish to go through all the hassle of returning it

Was the screen damaged (cracked or similar) or just doesn't respond in that area? If its not damaged and just not working you could try resetting the device &/or turning it off fully if you haven't already. Hopefully they can fix it promptly, it will be a good test to see how good customer service is. Might be good to know for future as we do get 36months warranty. Did you get the case for it? I wanted to save some money by using the reward points I got from buying the ereader on the case (about 1euro saving lol). If so what is your opinion of it? |

No damage at all to the packaging and yes like you said very well packed i was pleasantly surprised!
The screen does not appear to be damaged in any way however with the screen light on fairly high there is some light seeping out of the seem of the left back and forth button, maybe the screen isn't properly set in,i have never heard of this happening before. Now that you mentioned it i had a quick listen to the few tracks built into the device with my apple earpods and the sound quality wasn't that great to be honest,it doesn't matter as i will rarely use that element of the ereader anyway. I have tried refreshing, rebooting android, using the reset button with a pin and it's the same,i think my last best bet will be to do a total re install of the firmware but need to read up on how to do that,i don't think that will actually do anything and almost certain there is a hardware fault at play but it does seem odd for only a small spot of the screen to not recognize touch? UPDATE : Received a email back saying i had to re-install the firmware...did so and exactly the same, not a great first impression, hoping they replace it ASAP! Hi Jason. Received my Energy Ereader Pro+ may 21. First impression....exactly what i wanted. And i still think it is. However...when typing the password for the Wifi i had some troubles typing the letter "i" . Only after a lot of attempts i got it. Went further exploring but later i investigated the "i"-problem. My conclusion: it is an unresponsive spot on the screen. At the same spot in a book i can't select a word or phrase. Installing an other keyboard isn't possible because it has to be activated in the Android settings "Language and input" and that is not accesable or i have to root. I did a factory reset to no avail.
How are you instructed to reinstall the firmware ? |

OH dear...so this seems to be a more widespread issue than I thought! My problem is exactly the same as yours except in a different spot of the screen, I don't think im going to go for a replacement and get a refund instead, if I sent it back and got another one which had another spot that was unresponsive I would be so annoyed. I think the product itself is nice and feels good in the hand but this is the first time I've bought a unknown branded item and it's faulty...so I'm not going to be rushing to buy from them again...probably ever. You need to go to there website and find the energy sistem pro + site and towards the bottom there should be a .rar file called firmware/fw... it's around 200 mb, it includes a guide in the .rar file on how to reset the firmware but it's only in Spanish! I had to upload the pdf to google translate and work it out myself going from the translated guide and the spanish one with the pictures. Can I also say how do you find the browsing experience? Compared to my limited kindle voyage I find the scrolling and panning element of browsing on the pro + to be really poor, it smears and takes time to load in, the kindle voyage didn't do that at all although amazons 'experimental browser' would crash frequently.

Energy Pro+ unresponsive spot
For me the browser-experience of the Energy Pro+ wasn't a setback. As i said, without the screen flaw it would be the perfect reader for me. Before i had a Kobo Aura and a Kindle Paperwhite. The internetbrowsing on the Kobo and Energy is likewise. I dumped the Kindle after a week because i didn't like the way Amazon has made a closed cabinet of the reader and doesn't like it when customers put their own stuff in it. I like versatility.
I made a translation of the spanish guide and placed the pictures in the right place (its a word.docx) Think i'll try the flahing tomorrow. |

Did flash. Didn't succeed following the Energy guide. Even came in "Brick-state". Eventually succeeded with the unbrick method published on this platform. So now i've the official Energy Firmware but it didn't improve the unresponsive spot on the screen.
Most probably a screen hardware flaw. Will claim the guarantee. |

Well, currently owning a Boyue T62D+ (next to a T61), I am currently having a less then stellar experience with an Energy Sistem eReader Pro+ ...
No issues with the touch responsiveness, though. |
