This would be the first choice...
The second one is to leave only the cover view to choose a comic. The third one (what I would like to reach) is to provide a nice page (browser-like)...but I'm still far away!! EDIT: I forgot to mention the last possibility: no choice at all...everyone would read the same comic!!! Last edited by silver18; 10-27-2012 at 10:01 AM. |

Have you renamed your comics to match the name pattern?
I.E. are all images named from 0 on? If not, please use the rename script in komic launcher menu! |

Here it is the new choosing menu (thanks to jquery).
It works really fine without any drawback! Only thing is: it isn't so fashionable... I'm now working on wrapping this with a nice kindle-style menu! |

I'm still trying to improve Komic, so occasionally check for new updates!! I just created a new bookmarks menu using jquery. I'm trying to avoid using javascript's prompt, alert and confirm as they make HUGE problems in the Kindle. I fixed also the crash when opening a prompt (made with jquery). Check the spoiler for the explanation Spoiler:

I've updated to v2.0 with a minimum of problems. (BTW, if the Kindle gives an "update not successful," disable the JBpatch items that are active.)
I noticed a problem last night--I was trying to rename files in a CBZ and it would extract the CBZ file fine but wouldn't rename the files. This is after running the rename script on its own several times. Here's how the directory structure ended up looking like: Dolls\Dolls_[entropy]\filename.png Once I made it look like this, the rename script worked fine. Dolls\filename.png I simply renamed the ZIP file to CBZ without checking the contents. I've been doing a lot of reading from one directory and have noticed after a couple hundred pages Komic slows down, so I have to return home and select the folder and start reading again. Is this normal? |

The rename problem is probably related to the depth of the folder structure.
Unpacking an archive will keep its folder structure. If this leads to the images being in a folder three steps down from the gallery folder, this could make the script to not find images. I'm not 100% sure as I don't remember and I can't check it now. I will investigate... As regards the second problem, if you don't experiment force closing, then the memory fix worked! Anyway, there is still a last possibility: we hit the critical size! As I told before, komic is way bigger and more complex than any other WAF (IMHO) and this is not a plus when memory is a critical aspect! |

I really don't know if Komic works with KPW: I don't have one to test and, moreover, I don't think I'm going to buy one... You can still try it, it shouldn't mess anything. Anyway, as Komic needs GUI Launcher, you should first try the launcher! As regards the battery drain, I *think* Komic uses a bit more battery as it needs more screen refreshes than a normal book (this is because you read comic faster than books). |

Here are some new screenshots...
Komic now uses: - a kindle-style menu - jquery alert boxes, prompts and confirms - "nice" file-manager-style page to choose comics - new jquery menu in ManageBookmarks, ScheduleDeletions, ChooseBookmark So, finally, the welcome popup is gone! Hope you enjoy this! |
