So Who's Still Loving Their Kindle Voyage?

Can anyone who loves his/her Voyage let me know the exact location of ambient light sensor? I know that this sensor sits in the vicinity of the upper left corner, but it could be very helpful is someone measure horizontal and vertical distances from the device frame upper left corner to the sensor center?
I don't have Voyage yet but somehow happened to acquire Poetic Sophistication case and now wondering if this case shades the sensor.

Measuring with my caliper from the edge of the device to edge of the sensor (attached picture below) it's 0.275 in ~ 7 mm. It's the same distance vertically and horizontally. The sensor itself is 0.121 in ~ 3 mm in diameter. So about 0.335 in ~ 8.5 mm to the center.

For reference, the left edge of the display is 0.49 in ~ 12.4 mm from the edge of the device.

This is what I do too. Very handy for my voyage and occasionally for my laptop too Don't use the hotspot too often with the laptop because it uses too much of my data plan but great to be able to in a pinch. Voyage doesn't use much at all.

Evidently, case flaps will cover the sensor.
On top of that Poetic case is too flimsy, will get rid of it.
Thanks again for taking time to prepare this information.

Oh, I can do that, but it doesn't necessarily connect up automatically - I have to keep going into the settings and selecting the hotspot when I come back to the reader.

It's obviously a matter of personal preference, but I'd personally need to use the 3G feature of the Kindle an awful lot in order to justify the £60 price difference. Given that I sideload all my books from Calibre, I very, very rarely have a need for any form of wireless, either WiFi or 3G, on my reader. Your needs may of course be different .

I hardly ever use 3G on my Kindle to download books but I often use it for access to Wikipedia as I read. I enjoy looking up things as I encounter them while reading and I do it a lot. That's not really a necessity but I'd hate to lose that ability. That's worth the price of 3G to me.

Also on books with a lot of foreign phrases (I read a lot of older novels) I like to use the translation feature and if I'm not at home I need 3G for that.

Umm ... how do I do the above? I didn't know it was there. Dorothy Sayers and others do use a lot of non-English quotes, don't they?

Highlight the word you want to translate, and a box will pop up just like it does for the dictionary, but it will also have a "translate" option. (if you see the dictionary, swipe the box to the left. You'll see Wikipedia and Translation, and x-ray if it's enabled) I believe it tries to figure out the language the word is in, and translates it to whatever the default is. You can also use it to translate English words to other languages. You do need to be connected to the Internet in order for it to work, though.

This is exactly what I use it for and if I commuted daily or traveled a lot, it would certainly be worth the 3G price. However, most of my travels are to medical places and nearly all of them have wifi access sufficient for this purpose. However, I have learned to leave the historical fiction at home - I spend way too much time looking up the places/people referred to in stories.
