It is good to have other styles out here, so everyone can find something they like!

And I think they are wonderful backgrounds
I especially like 02 and coolbg3 the most. I will probably use them as a background to put another picture in the front.

Use away, I'm glad someone likes them. As I usually try different colorings and filters I have many alternative to basically the same background, so if you want I have another variant of 02.

What font's are you using on these covers?

It really depends on the image and the feel I have from the cover or a book - for example if it looks scary I will use scary-looking font.

I wasn't satisfied with fonts pre-installed in my system so I downloaded some from dafont.com and 1001freefonts.com.

I like to tinker with my covers so it's not "Check all" -> "Generate Cover" type of work but a moment with adjusting size of font or including newlines so that title doesn't start new line in a odd place (like after "a" or first word in a parenthesis)

Some examples:

• Marked
  • Chunk Five Ex
  • Coolvetica (I'm not sure if this is within licence agreement, so consult them before you download)
• Croquis
  • FreeSans (pre-installed)
  • Biko
• Sandrine
  • 1942 report
  • DejaVu Sans (pre-installed)

But I'm sure it depends on your likings.
I will probably upload some template_settings once I go through what license do the fonts I use have.

I like the 1942 report-font on your Sandrin cover. Grabbing now...

Ahh yes, it was the first font I downloaded. I like it very much too.

So I promised some covers and never uploaded them ... so this is at least some of them (some of them are even tame!!!

There is one big zip with all displayed covers, because I am lazy to zip every cover seperately - if that's problem for you give me a note.

As always - if you have any commentary, advice, help etc. for covers I'm all ears and if you like then

I actually like those generic covers that are on public domain books on Amazon, the ones with the yellowish top and a different color on the bottom. Does anyone know where I can download blank versions of those?

Just remove the text, select the top or bottom part in an image editor, and play with the Hue/Saturation/Lightness controls

There are a lot of them, so I'm only uploading indexprint - so please contact me if you would like some of them, it's also easy to change colors, brightness etc.

I love fiddling with them, so don't be shy .

I thought I'd share the images that I made using one of the basic leather images. I found free silhouette images over at pixabay and combined them with the leather background. Mystery, SF, Horror and Pulp (like westerns) are all represented by the images.
