Glo SD image
Hi, I've managed to brick my Glo, people could someone send me an SD card image?
Many thanks! |

I have already sent you an link to the image I have. And as far as I know, the only one available. If it didn't work, you either made a mistake in applying it, or there is another problem. As you have a thread opened to discuss the problem, I will respond there.

My friend asked me to help her fix her bricked Kobo Glo.
I have removed the back cover but there is no SD card in the internal slot. It's this normal and if yes, how can I install new system on a standard SD card? Could I please also ask to send a firmware? If required I send my email via PM. |

PM sent (I don't do email for this). And...
If there is no internal SD card in the device, then someone took it out. You just need a card of at least 2GB in size and to write the image to it. Alternatively, the device isn't a Glo and has fixed internal memory. If that is the case, it is probably the original Aura. In that case, you can try to do a factory reset using the buttons. Or there are people who have managed to get the device going by booting of a card in the external slot. |

The device is Kobo N613, so I think this is a Glo model.
I had a look is the card wasn't loose inside and I dropped it somewhere during removal of the back cover, but I can't find it anywhere (unless my dog decided to eat it). Could you please tell me how to format / prepare the new card and install the firmware? Thank you once again |

Sorry, but, "the dog ate my homework" is not allowed here But, I know what you mean. I put a micros SD card down on top of one of my devices and then ten minutes later picked the device up without thinking. And later went looking for the card. It had dropped onto a very dark green leather couch. Still haven't found it.
For instructions on using the image, see Memory Upgrade Mod Guide. I think some of the links for the tools don't work, but they still point to the right site. Or you can search for them by their name. |

Hi.
Thanks for the file. I have created new image on an 8gb card, which looks like the snapshot below, but I can't get the kobo to work. I tried soft and hard reset (reset button, light switch+on), but none works. Unless I'm not doing something right, the Kobo looks to be dead. |

Blue light comes on for about 5 seconds and then goes off.
Nothing else happens, no illumination and it's not seen by my laptop, however the blue light stays on for 5 seconds after its connected. It seems to turn off when I hold the on button for 15 seconds. I left it to charge for few hours, but that didn't change anything. |

Did you try to force a factory reset?

Press light button, switch on several times while holding the light button and release when led is flashing?
I tried this method but the led stated on for 5 seconds and turned off afterwards. |

That LED going off like that usually means the battery is flat. Try doing this with the device connected to the PC or charger.

Not sure if it is related but I noticed from the picture you did not extend the kobo partition.
