Let's start @ square 1, why modify founts when Tahoma works fine? =2 files, 1 for bold, it does Oblique & Bold Oblique.

It seems that your Tahoma is missing files. There should be 4 files (regular, italic, bold, bold-italic).

Take my modified version of Charis SIL. It's not only made for a heavier weight, but it's also modified to overcome the line height issue on a Kindle and KF8 eBooks. When I modified the weight, I was using a 650 that does not have any sort of advanced font control. That's a feature unique to Kobo.

Perhaps some of us do not like Tahoma?

I personally prefer a serif font for body text -- to me, they are more readable though if you want to argue either side, you'll find multiple studies supporting your point of view.

There are also those who prefer fonts with the 4 most common variants supplied. In the case of Tahoma, you need to play software games to obtain the italic/oblique variants. I find a properly designed italic font to be a better choice.

I won't get into a rant on some of the glyphs in Tahoma -- it's been done elsewhere often enough and by people with far better credentials in typography.

Thanks for reply, checked line spacing, goes all the way up to 3 times! but when near min. any big titles are stuck together. @ min. it looks as if there be room between the lines that could be even less, & so get more on page. There be 2 Tahoma typefaces.

Not quite sure what you mean by 2 Tahoma typefaces? I had thought there was 1 Tahoma font which has regular and bold variants as shipped by Microsoft. Ascender (?) added italic and bold-italic variants but I was never enthused enough about spending the $30 or so per variant to purchase them. There are several fonts on the web which are close to Tahoma but none that are identical.

In a UB reader android app there font called Serif, do you have Serif font?
Document Default and Georgia are almost the same as Serif, but not the same in secondary font.

Take a screenshot of the font, then we can find what it is.

Many Android apps use either Droid or MinionPro as their serif font. My guess is that UBReader uses MinionPro. They are not free but if you own any Adobe software you may find a full set (regular, italic, bold, bolditalic) installed in your Adobe program directory.

Edit: If you find them you'll probably need to rename them to Kobo's standards. Also, if you're a Kobo Patcher user and you want to make TypeGenius work with MinionPro you may also need to convert them from .otf files to .ttf files.

I tried fontin serif and it's not the same as serif.
i do not know where to find or path the font.
in second thought maybe serif is Document Default.

EDIT:I did find the MinionPro and MyriadPro fonts in Adobe program directory the fills are otf, i convert them to ttf using this website.

the two font do not the same as Serif, but are very good fonts .
so i go back to my original conclusion that serif is Document Default.

It was merged with the "weight" setting sometime in the last few firmware updates.

I check the font in the websites.
whatfontis: minion pro cond, aquila.
myfonts: Bague Text, Toshna...

The best similar font is minion pro clad, I download it from this website.

Minion Pro Cond font and Minion Pro font are the same.

At first it only showed in Italic font, the file name "Minion Pro Cond-Regular.ttf"
i change it to "Minion Pro Cond Regular.ttf" and it works.

Can i add advance setting to the font?
