grep the source for that specific error message - see what the authors are trying to say by studying the conditions under which it could be printed.

That link still works for me. I do not see why the blender project would have regional restrictions on their videos. Perhaps it was a temporary problem. Try again (or try a different mirror) and report back.
There are lots of mp4s in the "Moving Images" collection at archive.org (home of the "WayBackMachine"). Last edited by geekmaster; 09-02-2012 at 11:18 AM. |

You screenshots look like negative images. What happened there? Is it negative on the screen, or is that just in the framebuffer? Some of my eink driver code uses negative images and lets the eink controller invert it, so if your screen appears correct, you need to invert the framebuffer when you convert it to an image file.

Thousands available here:
http://www.imdb.com/features/video/browse/ Which, with a bit of clicking will lead you to a page like this: http://archive.org/details/fright_to_the_finish And in the left side-bar, a selection of the media types available. If one of those don't do it for you, then programs like VLC can transcode it for you. |

ffmpeg -i http://archive.org/download/BunkerHi...kerllBunny.mp4 -pix_fmt gray -vf transpose=2 -vcodec rawvideo -f rawvideo -r 7.8 -y -s 600x800 - |./raw2gmv | nc -l 5555
was the magic formula for me. Thanks for all the pointers, don't know why it failed before. |

In fact, on a K4/K5, you do not need those "nc" commands -- you can do it all on one command line inside the K5. A K3 cannot do the conversion AND the playing at the same time because the eips call uses too much CPU time in a K3 (hence piping the dithered stream from a host PC for realtime streaming, or two-step conversion to a .gmv.gz file like those in the first post). I see that the screenshots are the proper polarity now (not negative images). You do not need to rotate (transpose) the image with ffmpeg because that is already done inside the raw2gmv (by swapping scan coordinates). Your aspect ration is messed up. Try removing the "transpose" parameter. Last edited by geekmaster; 09-02-2012 at 07:06 PM. |

That message is because configure is trying to run ARM compiled test code on a non-ARM machine.
Two possible solutions: Install and use scratchbox2 (it is designed to solve exactly this problem). or Follow the Ubuntu model of defining a binfmt_misc entry to use qemu to run the arm code. Your choice should in-part be guided by what Linux distribution you are using. Some "just work" - others can be a real hassle to setup. There is a third choice - Pass the appropriate ac_* settings in the environment of configure to turn off the testing but that is a technical level beyond this forum. |
