It depends what you did to it.
Repairability usually hinges first on ability to open the device in a non-destructive way. Some devices use a lot of double-sided sticky tape. If you have a supply and the willingness to clean up the original tape and install new tape, that's not a problem. For many devices it's just a question of working a guitar pick around the edge. Finding an exact battery replacement can be a problem. In the past batteries were connected with standard pin/housing connectors. Now they use teensy-tiny "mezzanine" connectors. Those are those orange flex cables with a silver plate on top that snap in. In worst case you can buy raw cells and reuse the BMS PCB, flex, mezzanine. But don't do that unless you know what you're doing and are a good handworker. Shorted Li-ion batteries can be dangerous. Then there are button failures. In worst case you can replace them with something that does the job but is not a physical match. |

I don't know how I missed this, but there is a Firehose loader for QCS2290 (Leaf2, Poke5).

hi,
I can't get a link to the full update.upx for the last update (the one from 2024-07-01) the usual http://data.onyx-international.cn/api/firmware/update?where={%22buildNumber%22:0,%22buildType%22: %22user%22,%22deviceMAC%22:%22%22,%22lang%22:%22en _US%22,%22model%22:%22Leaf2%22,%22submodel%22:%22% 22,%22fingerprint%22:%22%22} point to the previous update (2024-03-12_10-14_3.5.1_b647384c4) any idea how to get it? |

They roll this stuff out at different times for different models. Are you sure that a newer version for this exists at all? |

Oh, you mean:
Code:

Has anyone been able to extract the boot.img from the 3.5.3 update? I don't have access to an EDL cable and trying to decompress the decrypted update file fails since it's an incremental update, not a full one.

You can use EDL to pull the current boot image off the device. Or you can use the last full update: Code:
Model: Leaf2 (English) Finger: Onyx/Leaf2/Leaf2:11/2024-03-12_10-14_3.5.1_b647384c4/7984:user/dev-keys Link: http://firmware-us.boox.com/94eb7bfb3c0bacbee98113cfba50b713/update.upx Size: 1,630,144,708 MD5: 94eb7bfb3c0bacbee98113cfba50b713 |

Does anyone use KoReader with the 2-disable-hw-button-rotation.lua patch?
Since updating to version my Leaf 2 to 3.5.3 (7f5c78ff3), I've been experiencing crashes whenever I apply the patch and then press the volume up or down button, or swipe to go back. I tried various versions of KoReader, but it might be a ROM issue, not a KoReader problem. Interesting lines in crash.log Code:
07-25 17:13:57.213 V/dlopen ( 2818): sys_dlopen - loading library /data/user/0/org.koreader.launcher/files/common/ssl.so (in local namespace) 07-25 17:13:57.214 W/linker ( 2818): Warning: "/data/user/0/org.koreader.launcher/files/common/ssl.so" unused DT entry: DT_RPATH (type 0xf arg 0x129b) (ignoring) 07-25 17:13:57.354 I/KOReader( 2818): Loading plugins from directory: /storage/emulated/0/koreader/plugins/ 07-25 17:13:58.613 E/NativeThread( 2818): Failed to run script: frontend/device/input.lua:704: attempt to index field 'rotation_map' (a nil value) Code:
