Nachdem ich neulich gerade mit jemandem in Bern zu telefonieren hatte erinnerte ich mich daran, dass ich mir vor einiger Zeit den "Wachtmeister Studer" von Glauser, den mtravellerh dankenswerter Weise hier hochgeladen hat, vorgemerkt hatte.

Fazit:
Feine frühe Krimi-Literatur (keine Hauruck-Thriller) mit schön gezeichneten Charakteren und Zeit- und Lokalkolorit.

War dann schnell durch damit und habe nun gleich mit dem "Chinesen" angefangen.

Ich habe gerade

The Grapes of Wrath - John Steinbeck

angefangen. Dieses Buch ist deshalb interessant für mich, da es u.a. mit der Route 66 zu tun hat, die ich im Herbst mit meinem Motorrad von New York über Chicago bis nach Los Angeles - weiter bis San Francisco und zurück nach New York befahren möchte - soweit ich gesund bleibe.

"Der Chinese" von Glauser ist durch. Schön. Der "Wachtmeister Studer" hatte mir von der Stimmung her aber besser gefallen.

Zum technischen/psychologischen Aspekt des Lesens: Ich habe wieder gemerkt, dass ich diese Bücher aus dem Gesichtspunkt "hab keine Zeit dafür" nicht gelesen hätte, wenn ich sie als P-Buch rumliegen gehabt hätte. So war zur Abwechslung mal wieder der Mobi-Reader auf dem guten (ur-)alten Palm Zire72s im Einsatz und den habe ich bei jeder freien Gelegenheit - egal wo - einfach aus der Hemd-/Jackentasche gefischt und weitergelesen: Mobilereading at its best. Auch ohne eInk.

Nun werd ich wohl oder übel mal von der Freizeitliteratur lassen und wieder etwas mehr Fachkram einschieben müssen.

Das kann ich genauso unterschreiben. Wenn ich nicht in Zahnarztpraxen, an Bushaltestellen, beim Kinderschwimmen oder an der Supermarktkasse lesen würde, würde ich teilweise wochenlang überhaupt kein Buch lesen.
