X-link to the DRM-free thread for the new Humble Bundle:
Humble Book Bundle LGBTQ exploring Pride Month contains quite a lot of comics in it, including several Eisner Award nominees. There are contributions by Alan Moore, Archie Comics, some industry overviews on LGBTQ-themed manga and Western comics, and a whole bunch of other graphic novels. |

New Humble Bundle is up, and it's for:
Humble Comics Bundle Sonic the Hedgehog full of licensed tie-in franchise stuff for the popular video game character. This includes an offer for a free sample issues from this bundle if you sign up for the newsletter on the page, and there's also an accompanying Humble 25th Anniversary Sonic the Hedgehog Bundle for the games as well. Current average is fluctuating this early in, but under $10 at the moment (extra books added next week), top-tier is $15. It doesn't look like there's much overlap between this and previous Archie Comics Humble and Groupees bundles which had Sonic issues in them, but I can't really tell, so you might want to check your archives if you already bought the both of them. New Humble Bundle is up, and it's for:
Humble Comics Bundle Star Trek presented by IDW chock-full of exactly what you'd expect, containing both their newer stuff, and the old reprints from the DC Comics line, from the looks of it. I'm guessing this is a promo for the upcoming movie release, just as there was with the Ghostbusters comics bundle a few weeks ago. Maybe it's just a webpage description glitch, but right now I'm not seeing adjustable average prices, just a straight $1 minimum, $8 middle tier (more books added next week), $15 top tier, $25 bonus tier with HB-exclusive paperback with a new story by John Byrne. ISTR there was a previous Star Trek HB, and I've no idea what might or might not be duplicated in this one; perhaps another of our MR members who actually got it might be able to help out. But it seems like good value for money, as you get a lot of TPB collection volumes, and the blurb says they'd normally cost you $351 retail. Spinoff adaptation-wise I've never really been into the Star Trek comics vs. the novels, but I think I'm willing to give it a try, especially since ISTR that Diane Duane, who wrote some of my favourite tie-in novels, also did a few issues of the old DC series. ETA: there's also some nifty-looking actual DC Comics crossovers in it (Legion of Super-Heroes!) and a graphic novel based on Harlan Ellison's original unaltered script for "The City on the Edge of Forever". And these blogposts seem to describe what was in the first bundle in the first week, which seems to be a fair amount of overlap, but from the looks of it, the suggested retail cost of the new stuff is high enough that it would cost you the top tier price for just a few of those titles anyway. Lots of duplication in that Star Trek bundle, but I'm in at $25 for that exclusive physical book!

For anyone who reads French-language BDs and/or Japanese manga in French translation, there's a sale on selected volumes from the imprints Glénat, Pika, Sandawe, and possibly others (they all look to be owned by Hachette), going on at multiple retailers which carry French-language books around the world, in addition to two 1st-in-series freebies (posted in their own threads).
The prices range from $2.99-$3.99 CAD (or local equivalent) per volume, and include a number of well-known Japanese manga such as Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi and secondary works by creators like Kaori Yuki (of Angel Sanctuary fame) and Ken Akamatsu (known for Love Hina). There are also translated western comics by Greg Rucka, and original French BD and manga-styled BD by creators like Didier Quella-Guyot (Bédétheque), whose work I've seen via the BD adaptations of Agatha Christie's novels, some of which I happen to own. Going from the listings for the rest of the non-sale volumes in several series, the usual prices for these things are in the $6.99+ range, so this is a pretty good sale offer. There's a good mix of genres in it, from fantasy to historical to contemporary comedy to mystery. Probably the easiest way to see the sale titles is via Kobo Canada's promotion page, which says the sale ends on July 17th: Mangas et bandes dessinées - se termine le 17 juillet The sale prices seem to also be available at Google Play and iTunes and Amazon CA (for some reason, the generic Amazon.com store, even set to a Canadian account, will not list certain Francophone publisher titles which apparently it only carries in the country-specific version which you'd have to have your account transferred to), and possibly elsewhere (seems to be only partial sale reduction of select titles at Amazon FR when I looked). They don't seem to have the volumes at Comixology, at least for the ones I spot-checked. The freebies via Kobo were perfectly standard ePub3 which the tools had no trouble with and transferred easily for reading in iBooks on my Mac, in case you were wondering about compatibility issues. New Humble Bundle is up, and it's for:
Humble Comics Bundle Grant Morrison containing the stuff he wrote for Graphic India, and apparently promoting his upcoming panel appearance at the San Diego Comic Con. A fair chunk of this has been offered in the previous Tales from India featuring Grant Morrison & Stan Lee, but that only went up to issue #10 of his 18 Days series, and this bundle takes you up to issue #19 in the middle tier (which works out to less than $1 per new issue), and adds the cover gallery issue, the Director's Cut editions of 2 titles that were regular-edition in the previous bundle (one of them is supposed to be HB exclusive; both include Morrison's notes as well as his full comic scripts and unreleased concept art sketches by the artist), and the Animated Motion Series Comic special edition artbook with the original animation scripts, story bibles, and commentaries by the adaptation creators, whis is also an HB exclusive at the top tier. Middle tier is a non-negotiable $8 (no extra books added next week), top tier is $15. I'm a sucker for behind-the-scenes making of stuff, so this is an auto-buy for me at the top tier, even though I was kind of meh on the actual comics when I skimmed my previous purchase (admittedly, I didn't try very far into the series, and maybe it picks up after the first issue or so).
