Im Westen nichts neues könnte ich mir auch vorstellen, Ansonsten "Fänger im Roggen" oder auch "Farenheit 451".
Ist zwar beides klassische Schullektüre, aber ich kenne es noch nicht. |

Wie wäre es denn mit Paul Auster - Die New-York-Trilogie? Da hätten wir dann gleich drei Geschichten zu einem Preis.
Oder vielleicht John Updike - Die Hexen von Eastwick oder Julian Barnes - Der Zitronentisch eine Sammlung von Kurzgeschichten? Edit: Der Zitronentisch ist zu jung, aber da findet sich sicherlich noch was anderes von Barnes, den ich auch schon immer mal lesen wollte. Ich bin da etwas erschlagen von den Möglichkeiten. Bei "Fänger im Roggen" wäre ich auch dabei, habe das zwar schon einmal gelesen als Teenager, aber ich habe kaum Erinnerung an den Inhalt. Was da m.E. auch dazu passen würde wäre "Wer die Nachtigall stört", aber auch hier wieder das Problem der digitalen Nichtverfügbarkeit (mir ist aufgefallen, dass das bei vielen Büchern der Fall ist, die zwar älter sind, aber noch keine "richtigen", sprich kostenlosen, Klassiker. Vermutlich fürchten die Verlage, diese Altertümchen würden die Digitalisierungskosten nicht wieder einbringen). "Rosemary's Baby" habe ich erst vor kurzem gelesen, also nicht gerne gleich schon wieder :-(

Um nochmal auf Murakami zurückzukommen, ich habe seit längerem sein Frühwerk Hard-boiled Wonderland und Das Ende der Welt auf meiner Liste. Haruki Murakami ist dabei ein Phänomen, da seine Bücher sowohl vom Publikum als auch von der Kritik gleichermaßen gelobt/geliebt werden.
Wäre das etwas für euch oder habt ihr es schon gelesen? |

Da sich keiner zu dem Thema geäußert hat, wird das jetzt wie folgt festgelegt.
Die Formatbeschränkung auf digital wird ganz aufgehoben. Das vorgeschlagene Buch muss nur in deutscher Sprache verfügbar sein. Ich denke die Abstimmung wird das dann alles selbst regulieren. Am Montag beginnen die Nominierungen! |

Ich mache mir schon mal eine Liste mit möglichen Kandidaten für eine Nominierung. Ganz oben steht bei mir zur Zeit dies hier:

Aber sicher bin ich mir noch nicht ob das so ein gutes Sommerbuch ist. Auf Deutsch gibt es das auch nicht als Digitalbuch. Salinger finde ich eine hervorragende Idee, das würde ich toll finden. Aber auch das gibt es auf Deutsch nicht digital. Das hier finde ich auch noch gut: Spoiler:

Was mich wundert ist, dass es den Fänger im Roggen nicht mal auf Englisch digital gibt.
Dann müssten wir tatsächlich zum Papier greifen. Ich bin jedenfalls gespannt, was letztendlich vorgeschlagen wird und über wie viele Bücher wir dann abstimmen. |

Salinger hat zu Lebzeiten spezielle Konditionen für den weltweiten Vertrieb seine Werke vereinbart, bis hin zur Covergestaltung und zum Klappentext. Kann sein das vertraglich vereinbart wurde das alles verboten ist was nicht explizit von ihm autorisiert wurde. Und offensichtlich hat er kein Digitalbuch autorisiert.
Ich habe dann mal kurz mit der Verborgenen Leitung der Dharma Initative telefoniert, es ist alles in Ordnung. Dharma Bums gibt es digital auf Deutsch und auf Englisch. Spoiler:
