Eh, sorry, but how do I run this macro?
Hello,
I am probably missing something completely obvious... I have downloaded and installed version 1.0.8 of the extension via the OO extension manager, and I can see that it is installed... I gather from other posts that a button is supposed to appear, however either I am going blind or else the button in not there :-( What should it look like and where should it be? I can see the macros in the My Macros section, but wouldn't know which one to run... I am using OO 3.2 on Linux 64 bit... Any help is very much appreciated ;-) Thanks, Anders |

Ah, could this be because I was working in a master document?

For me it creates a button in the icon bars, you know those under the "View" menu entry, it says symbol bars (or something, I'm on a german OO) and there is an entry writer2epub. Then just save your doc and press the button, tadaaa!

Hmmm.... for me it created a little extra window with the epub button in it... not part of the toolbar...
Because it was in the way of the toolbar I closed the epub window... and now I can't open it again... I tried uninstalling and re-installing again... no luck... How can I open the window with the button to start writer2epub again? Thanks :-) |

1) uninstall the extension. 2) close and restart OOo. 3) reinstall the extension. 4) close and restart OOo writer. 5) when you see the floating toolbar, right click and choose "dock the toolbar" or some such choice. I'm working from memory here. if the above doesn't work, explore the "view | toolbars" menu after re-installation. Maybe that will allow you to re-open that toolbar. If I'm way off base, surely others will chime in. Hope this helps. Good luck. Albert |

Hi Albert,
Thanks for your help... Quote:
Checked the menus too, but can't see anything that looks right... I can see the writer2epub macros are there... I suspect the button simply runs one of the macros... just don't know which one... tried the createEpub, but that didn't work either :-( |

Sometimes the toolbar is hide after the installation is done... The single button toolbar icon is a green squared "e" (the new logo for ePub ) If it is floating, just draw it in the preferred position. This is the normal behaviour of all toolbars. After I installed it the first time it didn't appear either... at the time I was working in a master document... and I noticed the button appeared when I opened a non-master document... so I assume it only works in non-master documents? Then I stupidly closed the floating menu... and since I haven't been able to get it back... even after reinstalling... Thanks for your help |

On your other installation, try checking the "Add-On 1" box. On my linux OOo, it is just called "Add-On 2" with no reference to "writer2epub." And I don't have an "Add-On 1"
go figure. |

I went to your blog and the 2nd link to download the writer2epub extension under the English section does not work. No problems because the other link works fine.
Another point when will I be able to find this extension searching OpenOffice.org's extensions site? Last edited by DoctorOhh; 08-13-2010 at 04:19 AM. |
