you mean the message "book not available etc..."? yes, this message still appears, have to ignore this

just found out the following:

starting a book (click) from the main page: no error-message
starting the same book from "series": no error-message
starting the same book from "categories": no error message

starting the same book from "authors": the message appears

could it be that calibre-web is confused as I run two "author" tags within my calibre library ("author" and "author_sort")?

You added the table "author_sort" to the calibre database yourself?

What if you remove this table (or rename it) in Calibre? Then just copy metadata.db and reload the database in calibre-web just like a new database.

No more errors then that was it!
Still errors = problem.

Calibre-web needs to reload the calibre database from scratch, otherwise it still uses its own database (old) to show the books. At least that is what I think.

Best is to use a small test calibre database without the added tables and load that in calibre-web.

Checked the connectivity at 02:45am: Connection got lost - reactivated by freemyip-token

Checked the settings of Fritzbox server - new ip was given at 01.40am

It's a permission docker problem.

I'm not the provider of the docker container, and I don't know what the exact problem is, but you can believe me, it's the root cause. I can't help you any further

Problem 1 - freemyip

crontab -e

Replace 5 */4 * * *
With 5 * * * *

And check again.


Problem 2 - calibre-web error

The problem is that it usually is a permissions problem.
Only in this case I do not think so.
With a permissions problem everything gives errors, not just with author.

Problem 2: For me this is no longer a problem as I can easily ignore the message - the files can be opened and that's more important

Problem 1: Followed your instructions and at least got two files in a folder within directory /.tmp - after a reboot this folder is gone

yes, PI is reachable through freemyip till now, but changed it at ca 4.00am this morning and have to wait until ca 1.40am tomorrow till the ip address will change again

left PC and PI on, IP address changed at 1.37am and from then on the library ist not reachable anymore

01.40am: shut down, both PC and PI

04.40am: started both, PC and PI, Firefox startet but though I redirected the frontpage "google.com" within the settings of firefox to the token of Freemyip, the library is not available until I redirect the token directly as ip-address to receive the "ok"
