Which bootloader? Did you overwrite abl?
You could see if the other slot has a good copy.
You could ask someone to grab a copy (there's nothing private in there).
Messing around flashing bootloaders when you don't have a Firehose loader could be detrimental to your sanity.

You can extract the latest untouched boot.img from here, but as Renate suggested I would first pull the boot images from both slots on the device.

Oh but I tried that as I wrote a little above.
on slot a, adb reboot bootloader get me to no usb, force reboot give me diag, force reboot again boots normally into system.
on slot b, adb reboot booloader gives me boot diag loop, recovery sequence get me out of the boot loop (i assumed it revert to slot a)

As I explained I already tried to reflash all partition extracted from the last update.upx (included boot.img) from the fastboot of recovery.

how can I flash a specific slot?

All of the A/B partition names end in _a or _b.
I was asking about abl_a and abl_b.

You mean xbl maybe? The extraction of update.upn give the following files:
boot.img dtbo.img product.img system_ext.img system.img vbmeta.img vbmeta_system.img vendor.img xbl.img
so I should:

ok so definitivly abl_b that explains also why updating from scratch with update.upx or flashing all partition from the ones extrated from update payload won’t solve my issue.

what’s the proper way to backup abl_a and copy it on abl_b?
I tried to dd it but it didn’t seem to have any change (i dd to a file then dd back to the other partition as root from adb) i also tried to fastboot flash the file again on the partition but still no change

could also someone send me a backup of a working abl? I’m not sure my abl_a is clean either given the fastboot not working on adb reboot bootloader issue. (at least it let me boot the device properly either in system or recovery)

so I ended up dding all A partitions on B ones. I could check after reboot that the partititons are the same (diff and md5sum) still my device doesn’t boot on slot B
anything else I could try?

Yes, but are you sure that you copied good-to-bad or was it bad-to-good?

If you can get to where you can dd why don't you just install an update?

yes I am sure. Slot B isn’t booting slot A is. So if I would have done it otherwise my device would be dead

There's no reason if things are working that a slot and b slot can't be the same.
The minimum to get fastboot should be xbl abl rpm pmic

Here's a full backup of the mmc on 3.3.1 (a3d24621e), because the full mmcblk0.bin file was 28GB I removed userdata.img and compressed it with 7z so it's only a 1,92GB file. I don't have any accounts on the device, so I'd be surprised if you somehow got any personal data from me.

Thank you very much! I already flashed all slot B partitions and this doesn’t change anything. Now I wonder if I should go on because I fear killing my device ...

Can I for instance dd a partition to a file and then restore it via fastboot from the file? is it the good format (raw)

Yes, that should work fine.
A (truly) rooted ADB should be able to pull it directly.
